Celebrating China's National Day: Strengthening Vietnam - China friendship in the new era

WVR - On the evening of September 26, in Hanoi, Member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung attended the reception celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (October 1, 1949 – October 1, 2025) organized by the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam.

The event was attended by leaders from various Vietnamese central and local departments, ministries, and agencies, along with representatives from the diplomatic corps and international organizations in Hanoi.

In his speech at the event, Member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung warmly congratulated the significant achievements of the Communist Party, the State, and the people of China over 76 years of nation-building and development. Notably, in more than a decade of the “new era” since the 18th National Congress (2012), under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping at its core, the Chinese people have successfully built a well-off society, enjoying increasingly prosperous and happy lives. China is playing an increasingly important role in global security, development, civilization, and governance issues.

Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed that in recent years, under the strategic guidance and direction of the highest leaders of both Parties and States, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and China has been continuously strengthened and comprehensively developed. This is reflected in various areas: enhanced political trust and high-level strategic exchanges; robust strategic connectivity; strong growth in economic, trade, and investment cooperation; a solidified social foundation; and the active resolution of differences based on mutual respect for legitimate interests, in accordance with international law.

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung affirmed that in the future, the Party, State, and people of Vietnam are ready to work with the Party, State, and people of China to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. This includes promoting the building of a Vietnam-China Community of a shared future with strategic significance based on common perceptions and the “6 more” orientation. The focus will be on enhancing multilateralism, international solidarity, and cooperation in addressing traditional and non-traditional security challenges, mobilizing resources for sustainable development, thereby strengthening comprehensive linkages among countries in the region and globally, bringing practical benefits to all parties.

Speaking at the reception, Wang Qun, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, reviewed the significant achievements of the Communist Party, the State, and the people of China over the past 76 years. He emphasized that under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, China has successfully achieved the first centennial goal of building a well-off society, embarking on a new journey of Chinese-style modernization. The living standards of the people have improved significantly, and China's international status and reputation have been increasingly enhanced, contributing positively to global security, development, civilization, and governance issues. He affirmed that China remains committed to high-level openness, proactively sharing the benefits of its super-large market, and steadfastly pursuing a path of peaceful development.

Wang Qun emphasized that China and Vietnam are friendly neighbours, sharing mountains and rivers, and are “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades, and good partners” with a shared future. China always regards its relationship with Vietnam as a priority in its neighbouring diplomacy; it is ready to work with Vietnam to implement high-level common perceptions, adhering to the strategic direction of the highest leaders of both Parties and countries to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, continuously enriching the contemporary content of the China-Vietnam Community with a shared future of strategic significance.
