Firstly, the visit demonstrates the special emphasis placed by Vietnam's leaders on Laos, affirming that Vietnam prioritizes the Lao PDR in its foreign policy. Amidst the complex and unpredictable regional and international situation, this visit underscores the determination of both Parties and countries to maintain and develop the exemplary and rare friendship between the two nations.

Additionally, the visit will create new momentum for strategic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy, infrastructure connectivity, energy, trade, and education. Both sides will review and promote the implementation of high-level agreements and explore new cooperation directions suitable to each country's conditions.

This visit holds deep significance for the people of both countries. It is an opportunity to reaffirm that the Laos-Vietnam relationship is a precious asset that the leadership and people of both countries are responsible for preserving and enhancing. We believe that the outcomes of the visit will contribute to strengthening political trust, enhancing substantive cooperation, and bringing tangible benefits to the people of Laos and Vietnam.

What are your expectations for the visit in shaping the cooperation between the two countries in the new context, considering the important development goals of both Laos and Vietnam?

On this occasion, we expect that the leaders of both countries will discuss several important issues aligned with the comprehensive cooperation orientation between Laos and Vietnam in the new phase.

In particular, both sides will review the implementation of high-level agreements and strategic cooperation projects previously agreed upon, from political-diplomatic cooperation, defense-security cooperation to economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

This is an opportunity for both Parties and countries to assess progress, resolve difficulties, and implement specific steps to enhance the effectiveness of substantive cooperation. Additionally, the two leaders will have extensive discussions on promoting strategic connectivity between the two economies, particularly in developing transportation corridors, energy, logistics, and key economic sectors.

Laos highly values Vietnamese enterprises and hopes Vietnam will continue to be a leading partner in important infrastructure projects of the Lao PDR, in line with the Lao PDR's regional connectivity orientation. Both sides will continue to promote cooperation in education and training, human resource development, with a focus on digitalization, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, meeting the sustainable development needs of both countries in the new phase.

I expect that General Secretary To Lam's visit will create strong momentum and a new vision for the Laos-Vietnam relationship. This is a time when both countries are aiming for important development goals: Laos is implementing its socio-economic development strategy and structural reforms, while Vietnam is pursuing its 2045 Strategy. In this context, enhancing effective cooperation, closely linked to the practical benefits of the people, will be a crucial factor in deepening the special relationship between the two countries.

I am confident that the outcomes of the visit will contribute to strengthening political trust, opening new cooperation directions, and providing opportunities for both countries to develop and prosper together.

How do you perceive the atmosphere among the Vietnamese people as they prepare for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam?

Recently, Vietnam successfully organized the Party Congresses of central and local departments and sectors. I have observed the vibrant atmosphere in the preparations, the attention of the leadership, and the aspirations of the Vietnamese people for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress. This is a significant political event, setting important development directions for Vietnam in the new phase.

I see the Vietnamese people actively following the preparations for the Party Congress, from drafting documents, personnel work to organizing patriotic activities to welcome the upcoming Congress, instilling pride and confidence in the leadership of the Party, the great national unity, and the determination of the Vietnamese leadership and people to focus their efforts on building a prosperous and sustainable country.

I have followed and highly appreciate Vietnam's efforts in preparing for the Party Congress and believe that the 14th National Party Congress will address important issues, ushering in a new era of development for Vietnam, contributing to building peace, cooperation, and prosperity in the region. I am confident that the Congress's outcomes will continue to lay a solid foundation for promoting the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, making it deeper, stronger, and more effective.

Thank you very much, Ambassador!
