On the afternoon of October 16, during the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry's Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang announced: At the invitation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, will officially visit Finland from October 20-22.
Finland is a long-standing friendly partner of Vietnam. Politically and diplomatically, both sides frequently exchange delegations at various levels, closely coordinate, and support each other at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations and within the ASEAN and EU frameworks.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries has developed. Cooperation in other fields such as defense, security, education and training, agriculture, environment, culture and education, people-to-people exchanges, tourism, and local cooperation has also progressed well.
During the official visit to Finland, General Secretary To Lam will hold talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, meet with the Finnish Prime Minister, the First Deputy Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, the Chairman of the Finnish Communist Party, and engage with a number of prominent Finnish businesses, along with other important diplomatic activities.
