Four more COVID-19 infection cases confirmed, patient tally rises to 255

The Ministry of Health has confirmed four more COVID-19 infection cases, bringing the nation's patient tally to 255.

Patient 252 is a 6-year old boy residing in Ward 12, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.

He had been living with his family in Cambodia. Two of five members of his family contracted the virus and are being treated in the neighboring country.

On March 8, the boy and the other two members returned to Viet Nam through Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh Province.

They were immediately taken to Tay Ninh General Hospital for quarantine.

Patient 253 is a 41-year old woman residing in Ha Noi’s Me Linh District. She is the sister-in-law and had been in close contact with patient 243.

She is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 254 is a 51-year old man residing in Ha Noi’s Me Linh District.

He had been in close contact with patients numbered 243 and 250.

He is being treated at the Ha Noi Kidney Hospital.

Patient 255 is a 29-year old man from Bac Quang District of the northern province of Ha Giang.

He landed at Noi Bai International Airport on March 27 on flight SU290 from Russia.

He was taken to a centralized quarantine camp in Vinh Phuc Province upon his arrival and is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Of the total infection cases confirmed so far, 158 cases returned/came from foreign countries while the rest contracted the virus from the previously announced patients.

As many as 74,941 people have been quarantined, including 720 at hospitals, 24,329 at centralized camps and 49,892 at places of residence.

The number of recovered patients rose to 128 as of Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health.
