Chairman of Q&T, Luong Ngoc Anh, delivered an impressive presentation at the MAP2025 conference held in Istanbul, Türkiye.

This year's conference took place from November 11-14 in Istanbul, Türkiye, attracting numerous experts and developers in minting and security printing from various countries.

Held for the seventh time, MAP2025 is the leading international forum on minting and printing technology, offering opportunities for trade, cooperation, and interactive discussions among representatives from 50 central banks worldwide, security paper manufacturers, mints, printing companies, and security paper processors; as well as 250 top experts in the field of security printing.

A survey conducted by Banknote Industry News from June to October 2025 on trends in cash circulation, substrate usage, security features, and sustainability expectations of 36 central banks worldwide shows that global cash demand remains positive, with a 4.6% growth in 2024 compared to 2023, following normalization after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Key drivers include inflation, reliance on cash in rural areas, cultural preferences for hoarding, and cash savings.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Mehmet Sercan Arslan from the National Mint, Central Bank of Türkiye, affirmed that cash remains an essential, reliable, and secure payment method.

Accordingly, cash offers unique benefits: instant payments, privacy, financial inclusion for underserved populations, and a critical backup in case of system failures or crises.

The Central Bank of Türkiye is also making significant investments in new printing equipment for a new printing plant, packaging, and inspection systems to enhance quality and production capacity. The bank is maintaining a vast and robust cash distribution network to ensure nationwide availability.

According to the organizers, the highlight of the event was the presentation by Q&T representative, CEO Luong Ngoc Anh.

At the conference, Crane Currency introduced the integration of modern security technologies (notably MOTION SURFACE®) into both paper and polymer banknotes, ensuring durability, aesthetics, and easy verification, based on criteria prioritized by banks including: anti-counterfeiting security, public verifiability, cost-effectiveness, durability, and harmonious design between substrate and printing.

After 20 years of development, with features creating strong 3D motion effects, highly intuitive for public verification, compatible with paper, polymer, or laminate, each icon sample is unique, enhancing security. Over 120 billion images have been issued globally. Crane affirms its leadership in secure banknote design with the "Beauty of Life" sample note, embodying the design philosophy: the art of optical & tactile security technology.

The highlight of the event was the presentation by Vietnam's Q&T High-Tech Polymer Company Limited. Sharing Vietnam's currency printing technology at the conference, Chairman of Q&T, Luong Ngoc Anh, introduced several of the company's advanced solutions, notably POLYSECURE® SHIELD, an "anti-counterfeiting" structure with security elements embedded directly within the polymer substrate, enhancing durability, security, and offering comprehensive design freedom.

This groundbreaking solution addresses the longstanding issues of polymer banknotes. With traditional security technology, security elements like holograms and inks are often on the substrate surface, leading to limitations such as wear, fading when exposed to friction, moisture, or chemicals, easy detachment and reuse on higher denomination notes, design constraints due to surface interruption, and increased counterfeiting risk as surface characteristics can be replicated.

MAP2025 attracted numerous experts and developers in minting and security printing from various countries.

When these security elements are embedded within Q&T's multi-layer design, the security layers integrate into the polymer structure, not just at the window, making them nearly impossible to detach or destroy, enhancing the durability of security elements and allowing design freedom: enabling continuous printing across the entire surface without distorting optical effects, increasing aesthetics.

This initiative offers significant benefits to central banks and the global currency industry, enhancing security, increasing durability, and being environmentally friendly by reducing the number of replacement prints annually, and particularly elevating design, turning security elements into a part of banknote artistry.

Luong Ngoc Anh emphasized that Q&T's capabilities have been proven through consecutive international bids to supply security paper for the National Mint of Vietnam over the past three years, along with ISO certifications and recognition from many reputable currency printing partners worldwide.

Participating in Mint and Print 2025 is also an opportunity for Q&T to showcase its innovative advancements, while affirming its capabilities and position on the global map in the security printing industry.

During a recent meeting with a delegation of South American ambassadors, sharing with World and Vietnam Report, Luong Ngoc Anh stated that in the context of many countries shifting to polymer currency, this is an opportunity for Vietnam, with over 20 years of successful experience with this type of currency due to its superior advantages such as high durability, economic efficiency, and very low counterfeiting rates.

"From dependency, Vietnam has now fully mastered the technology, and Q&T aims to share this experience to expand the market, especially with Central American partners. The company is actively working with many countries and preparing to send expert teams to assist in design, while affirming readiness to invest abroad if suitable cooperation mechanisms are available," Luong Ngoc Anh shared.
