The Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 is an annual event organised under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism by the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts, in collaboration with relevant agencies. This year’s festival will feature a wide range of creative activities and captivating art performances for children, taking place from 2 - 5 October.
A highlight of the event is the installation exhibition space, recreating the festive atmosphere of a traditional Mid-Autumn celebration. Vibrant toys such as lion heads, paper mâché masks, paper mandarins, lanterns, drums, cotton swans and fruit trays will offer visitors an eye-catching “check-in” spot. Adding to the fun, themed photobooths - Sister Hang’s Fashion Shop, Uncle Cuoi’s Grocery Store and Secrets of the Mid-Autumn Festival - promise unique and playful snapshots for children.
Children will also enjoy a series of interactive activities, including traditional craft workshops to make Mid-Autumn toys, circus and variety performances, sports and team games, lion and dragon dances, and a “Books with Childhood” corner featuring free reading spaces and selected children’s titles to inspire a love of books.
The festival programme includes exciting competitions: the children’s drawing contest “Mid-Autumn Through My Eyes”, a digital art contest on the Mid-Autumn theme and a fashion design contest “Designing Costumes for Sister Hang and Uncle Cuoi for the Festival”. Additionally, a Mid-Autumn Camp involving 12 schools in Hanoi will create a lively and meaningful community space.
As part of its social outreach, the Organising Committee will present meaningful gifts to disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies.
The Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 will officially open at 7:30 p.m. on 2 October at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts (No. 2 Hoa Lu, Hanoi). Throughout the festival, a line-up of special art performances will take place, including Moonlight Journey (2 October), Welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival (3 October), the fashion art show Pure as Moonlight, Embracing the Festival (4 October) and Shining Meteors (5 October).
