Attending the ceremony were Republic of Korea Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Miyon, Mr. Yang Sungmo, Head of the KBS Office in Vietnam, along with representatives from relevant units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In her speech at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang assessed that the reopening of the KBS permanent office in Vietnam is a significant milestone in journalistic cooperation between the two countries, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
According to the Deputy Minister, KBS is the fifth Republic of Korea media agency to have a permanent office in Vietnam and the 31st foreign media agency currently operating in the country. The return of KBS enriches the network of international media agencies in Vietnam, providing an additional channel for the Republic of Korea and international audiences to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam's situation, people, and developmental changes.
Referring to Vietnam-Republic of Korea relations, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang stressed that after nearly 35 years of diplomatic relations, the two countries' relationship is developing robustly and achieving substantial results across various fields. The Republic of Korea is currently Vietnam's number one partner in direct investment (FDI), number two in ODA and tourism, and number three in trade and labour. The two countries are increasingly becoming each other's leading important partners.

In this process, journalistic and media cooperation plays a crucial role in strengthening social foundations, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and building understanding and trust between the two countries. Through journalistic products, stories about economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, tourism, education, and community life in the two countries are widely disseminated, bringing Vietnam-Republic of Korea relations closer to the people.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed confidence that the KBS office in Vietnam will contribute to timely, objective, and profound reflections on Vietnam's development achievements, innovation, and international integration, while bringing Vietnam's image closer to the Republic of Korea and international audiences.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes KBS will actively report on important events in Vietnam, enhance exchange activities, and connect with Vietnamese media agencies, thereby promoting people-to-people exchanges, supporting business connections, and strengthening the social foundation for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. The Ministry also affirmed that it will facilitate KBS's effective operation in Vietnam within the framework of Vietnamese law.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Yang Sungmo, Head of the KBS Office in Vietnam, expressed his delight at the official reopening of the KBS permanent office in Vietnam and thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies for facilitating KBS's return to operation.
Mr. Yang Sungmo stated that the reopening of the permanent office in Vietnam is significant for KBS, allowing reporters to access the real situation in Vietnam more directly, fully, and vividly, thereby conveying multi-dimensional and accurate information about the country, people, and development process of Vietnam to Republic of Korea audiences.
The Head of the KBS Office in Vietnam emphasised that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have increasingly close relations in many fields, with deepening exchanges between the people of the two countries. In this context, the media plays a vital role as a bridge, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and trust.
Mr. Yang Sungmo affirmed that KBS will strive to fulfill its role as an information bridge, enhancing coverage of Vietnam-Republic of Korea cooperation activities, thereby contributing to the further development of relations between the two countries.
