Aiming to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Vietnam - Republic of Korea diplomatic relations (1992-2027) and the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting 2027, which will be held in Phu Quoc, Vietnam's premier resort island, the Republic of Korea Embassy in Vietnam, in collaboration with the People's Committee of An Giang Province, organized the “Vietnam - Republic of Korea Cultural Festival in Phu Quoc 2026” from October 3-4 at the Phu Quoc Special Zone Cultural Centre Square.
The program was jointly organized by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam, the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang Province, the Department of Tourism of An Giang Province, the People's Committee of the Phu Quoc Special Zone, along with relevant agencies from the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
More than 10,000 spectators and tourists in Phu Quoc attended to experience the cultures of the Republic of Korea and Vietnam (An Giang) during the two-day event.
The program offered unique cultural experiences from both countries, such as exploring the culture, tourism, and cuisine of the Republic of Korea and Vietnam (An Giang) through games, exhibitions of famous heritage photos, and tasting Phu Quoc fish sauce and Korean ginseng...

Notably, two nights of art exchange performances featuring artists from the Republic of Korea and Vietnam (An Giang Province) left a deep impression on the audience and tourists in Phu Quoc. Besides the familiar melodies of An Giang and Phu Quoc, for the first time, Phu Quoc audiences enjoyed new pansori melodies, powerful B-boy dance performances from the Republic of Korea, and artistic taekwondo kicks from the Republic of Korea.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the Phu Quoc Special Zone, shared: “This is an opportunity for the people of both countries to meet directly, experience, and appreciate the unique cultural values of each nation; thereby enhancing understanding, respect, and fostering friendship between the two countries.”
This program was organized to contribute to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have diligently nurtured through cultural exchanges among the people.

Director of the Korean Cultural Center Park Chan A, shared: “I am delighted to introduce the unique cultural features of the Republic of Korea to the people and tourists of Phu Quoc for the first time. The people of Phu Quoc warmly welcomed us and enthusiastically participated in the program's activities.
I hope the Korean Cultural Center will have many cultural exchange activities that bring the people of the two countries closer together in Phu Quoc ahead of the APEC Summit next year.”
