Vietnam - China foster substantive cooperation and strategic connectivity: Permanent Deputy FM Nguyen Minh Vu

On September 28, in Beijing, China, Member of the Party Central Committey and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign AffairsNguyen Minh Vu held meetings with his Chinese counterpart Ma Zhaoxu, Deputy Head of the International Department of the Central Committee, Communist Party of China Sun Haiyan, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Liu Bin to discuss promoting bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and China.
Both sides conveyed greetings between Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee, Communist Party of China Liu Haiting.
During the meetings, both sides expressed pleasure at the positive development trend of Vietnam-China relations in recent times. They agreed that under the guidance of the highest leaders of both Parties and countries, bilateral relations have achieved significant results, notably: Political trust continues to be strengthened, cooperation mechanisms across Party, Government, National Assembly, and Fatherland Front channels are increasingly perfected, strategic connectivity between the two economies is accelerated, economic-trade cooperation, investment grows strongly, people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation are vibrant.

To continue concretizing and effectively implementing the common understanding between the leaders of the two Parties and countries, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu proposed that both sides continue to closely coordinate in preparing and implementing high-level foreign activities; promote the pioneering role and strategic orientation of Party channel cooperation, enhance experience sharing on Party building, national governance; strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front with the National People's Congress, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; jointly promote substantive cooperation in economic-trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, science, technology, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, control and appropriately handle disagreements, bringing the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to continue developing in a stable, healthy, sustainable manner and increasingly in-depth.

Agreeing with the proposals of Perament Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, Perament Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Ma Zhaoxu, Deputy Head of the CPC International Department Sun Haiyan, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Liu Bin affirmed that China highly values the continued consolidation and development of Vietnam-China relations, and is ready to enhance exchange, closely coordinate, effectively implement the common understanding of the highest leaders of the two Parties and countries, maintain regular high-level and various level contacts, and is ready to coordinate in promoting key cooperation areas in line with the potential and strengths of each country, strengthen parliamentary cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, and consolidate a solid social foundation for bilateral relations.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to strengthen coordination at multilateral forums, especially supporting each other in successfully organizing the APEC Year 2026 in China and the APEC Year 2027 in Vietnam.

During the working visit, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu also held a meeting with Mr. Ba Yin Chao Lu, Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Chairman of the China-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, to discuss measures to promote exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
