Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong congratulated the Kingdom of Cambodia on its recent achievements in socio-economic development and international integration. He affirmed that Vietnam always values and prioritizes a good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong highly appreciated the robust and substantive development of bilateral relations in recent times, especially following the state visit to Cambodia by General Secretary and President To Lam in February 2026.
Political and diplomatic relations have been continuously strengthened through regular high-level exchanges and contacts. Defense and security cooperation has been further consolidated, contributing to maintaining stability and order in each country. Economic cooperation remains a highlight, with bilateral trade turnover in the first eight months of the year reaching 8.7 billion USD – an increase of 8.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun congratulated Vietnam on its comprehensive successes in both domestic and foreign affairs in recent times. He emphasized that Vietnam's sustained high economic growth also brings many benefits to Cambodia through increasingly close trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Appreciating the traditional friendly neighbourly relations and mutual support and assistance the two countries have provided each other throughout history, Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun particularly valued the recent strengthening of ties between border provinces and people-to-people exchanges between Cambodia and Vietnam. This is evidenced by the growth in two-way tourism and the increasing number of Cambodians seeking medical treatment in Vietnam. Cooperation in other areas, especially the economy, continues to bring tangible benefits to the people and businesses of both nations.
Both sides will continue to effectively coordinate the implementation of agreements and cooperation mechanisms between the two governments. They will also work together to prepare and organize activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2027, thereby enhancing understanding and awareness among all levels of society, particularly the younger generations of both countries, about the traditional solidarity and bond between the two peoples.
On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong held a working session with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Ung Rachana, discussing various measures to promote bilateral relations and cooperation between the two foreign ministries in the future.
