Participating in the program, British students from the University of Stirling and Staffordshire University engaged in real projects across various fields: Marketing, tourism, game design and more.
Not limited to simple tasks, students were entrusted with significant responsibilities, directly contributing to business operations and exploring the diverse business environment in Vietnam – one of the most dynamic economies in Southeast Asia.
For instance, Britney Yuvonne Nguyen, a student from the University of Stirling, completed an eight-week internship at Elite Group, a high-quality jewelry design and production company.
From managing social media, creating unique advertising campaigns to participating in new product launches, Britney made a mark. As a result, she received an offer for a part-time position at the company's headquarters in New York (USA) immediately after her internship in Vietnam.
“Initially, I thought I would be assigned trivial tasks. However, I was deeply involved in the work and learned many skills in communication and problem-solving – essential tools for my future career", Britney shared.
Another student from the University of Stirling, Joshua Michael Wood, had the opportunity to participate in organizing Vietnam Game Connect 2025 – a global forum for the gaming industry. He experienced the entire process: From producing communication materials, managing partners to working at the event.
“What impressed me the most was the professionalism and team spirit. The night before the event, everyone stayed up almost until dawn to ensure everything went perfectly. It’s an experience I will never forget”, Joshua said.
For hospitality student Helen Margaret Loud from the University of Stirling, the internship at Thang Long Imperial Citadel opened a different journey: Drafting English scripts, assisting international tourists and combining hospitality knowledge with cultural tourism.
“The most challenging aspect of working in the service industry is understanding and meeting customer needs. The internship taught me how to analyze needs, adapt to any situation and ensure the best benefits for customers", Helen shared.
Meanwhile, four students from Staffordshire University with a passion for gaming took on roles as project development interns at Lac Bird, a prominent creative game studio in Vietnam. They immersed themselves in the entire game production process, from ideation to execution.
“The internship in Vietnam provided me with a solid technical foundation, improved communication skills and enhanced creative thinking”, Cal Emerson Andrew Norwood from Staffordshire University shared. “These experiences will give me a competitive edge when job hunting".
The internship program not only benefits students but also the businesses themselves. Appreciating the students’ performances, Thao Dao, Brand Manager at Elite Group, noted that international interns brought fresh perspectives and positive energy to the work.
“We assigned them real-world challenges, and they overcame them brilliantly. This is an unforgettable experience not just for them but for our company as well", Thao shared.
Discussing the program, Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Head of the International Cooperation Department at BUV, stated: “We are delighted to see international students enjoying the working environment and culture in Vietnam. Through the program, international students also gain access to broad career development opportunities in Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and globally. This is the foundation for them to become confident and creative global citizens".
