These are also the first programs under Vietnam National University Hanoi’s internationalization initiative. The four new master's programs include: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Radiology & Nuclear Medicine. They are designed according to international accreditation standards and will be taught entirely in English by a team of experienced local and international experts as well as lecturers.
Alongside professional training, international students will also take basic Vietnamese language courses to help with communication and daily living in Vietnam, as well as to integrate into the local cultural environment throughout their studies. These programs will begin to call for admission this year.
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy noted that its network of 29 central and Hanoi-based hospitals will serve as reputable clinical training sites, ensuring high-quality hands-on experience.
India will be the first country to send students to study in these master's programs at the university.
“Part of the reason is that their domestic institutions cannot fully meet the demand, but more importantly, Vietnam has emerged as a highly regarded destination for high-quality education in medicine and pharmacy,” a university representative said.
Currently, there are already over 400 Indian undergraduate medical students studying in Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. “Attracting international students is both necessary and meaningful, as it helps create an international academic environment right here in Vietnam,” the university representative added.
