At the event, Vietnamese and US enterprises took part in useful exchanges, opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the future between businesses of the two countries, especially in the fields of energy, healthcare, and smart cities.

US Secretary of Commerce Ross highly appreciated the businesses attending the event, some of the leading economic groups of the two countries. He added that US-Vietnam business cooperation in the future will make an important contribution to increasing bilateral trade ties in Vietnam in particular, and the Indo-Pacific region in general.

The Secretary also reaffirmed that Vietnam and the United States are engaged in close and sustainable economic cooperation, bringing mutual prosperity to both countries.

Highlighting US-Vietnam trade cooperation over the past quarter of a century, Secretary Ross said, “As we mark 25 years of trade relations between the United States and Vietnam, I am glad to see business leaders here working towards greater business-to-business ties between our nations. I am joined by a delegation of US companies that are also looking to grow this important relationship.”

Representing Vietnamese enterprises participating in the event, Madame Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairwoman of BRG Group, thanked Secretary Ross for choosing Vietnam as their destination during the three-country Indo-Pacific Business Mission trip.

Speaking at the event, Madame Nga said, “The fact that US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross has directly met with Vietnamese entrepreneurs has proven his goodwill in enhancing business-to-business ties between Vietnam and the US, thereby further strengthening the good relationship between the two countries.”

“Hopefully, after this business trip, the US Government will have gained more knowledge about the market economy and the investment environment in Vietnam, and help to build up more successful cooperation between the two countries,” Madame Nga added.

The visit of Secretary of Commerce Ross and senior US government officials and executives from 17 leading American companies is part of a larger trade mission to the Indo-Pacific region with stops in Bangkok, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia.
