Binh Thuan tourism flourished, affirming its mark on Vietnam's tourism map

It is the comment of Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of Binh Thuan Culture – Sport and Tourism Department at the recent conference themed "Introducing and promoting the destination Ke Ga - Binh Thuan".
Most attractive destination in South Central region
Recently, tourism has been developing gradually Binh Thuan in both quality and quantity. The province has become one of the most attractive destination in South Central Coast.
According to Mr. Bui The Nhan, in the beginning of 2023, Binh Thuan province is expected to welcome 8.3 million tourists, an increase of 2.1 million compared to 2022 (6.2 million visitors), with revenue reaching 19,500 billion VND. Of which, international visitors are expected to reach about 220,000. By the end of November, the province had exceeded the set target, the number of visitors increased by 16.4%, especially foreign visitors doubled compared to last year.
The above results were achieved from the active implementation of Binh Thuan tourism industry in many tourism promotion activities and advising on organizing large-scale events to attract tourists.
In particular, a series of events have been held within the framework of National Tourism Year 2023 “Binh Thuan – Green Convergence” such as the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 National Tourism Year; Street Culture Week; Fish festivals; Stop And Run Marathon BTV Binh Thuan 2023 Tournament; display and exhibition "Binh Thuan cultural heritage connecting regions", etc.
In addition, the Director of Binh Thuan Culture – Sport and Tourism Department shared that tourist businesses gradually recovered and developed, improved the service quality, and enhanced the human resources in tourism industry day by day.
“Businesses actively implemented new and interesting tourist packages, along with promotion program to stimulate properly tourism needs, attract huge tourists from the Southern and Tay Nguyen cities/provinces to visit, and relax, especially during holidays and Tet”, Mr. Nhan stated.
Last but not least, Binh Thuan tourism flourished by convenient transportation and infrastructure connection. The two expressways Phan Thiet-Dau Giay and Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet came into operation, shortening travel time from localities to Binh Thuan, creating a huge boost to help the local tourism industry make a breakthrough.
Binh Thuan province also upgraded, expanded 28B Highway, completed construction of coastal roads and routes connecting coastal roads with National Highway 1A, expressways...
“Binh Thuan is also among the top localities in the country with large revenues, over 10,000 billion VND. It has affirmed the imprint of provincial tourism on Vietnam's tourism map”, Mr. Nhan said.

To maintain the ‘take-off’ momentum
Binh Thuan People's Committee has organized the meeting to report on socio-economic, security and defense 2023 and have directions; tasks for 2024. There were many opinions noted the bright spot of tourism in Binh Thuan economic picture. Thereby, the proposed target for welcoming visitors in 2024 will be to strive to reach 8.8 million visitors (an increase of more than 5% compared to 2023).
In order to promote tourism, Binh Thuan province also plans to develop “night economy” and has Project of developing Night Economy in Binh Thuan province by 2030.
Mr. Bui The Nhan said that this project would set Phan Thiet city as the center of the night economy, within the existing region. The second night economy zone is Ham Tien ward – Mui Ne city, “resort capital” implemented by businesses and associations. The 3rd night economy zone is Ke Ga cape at Thanh Long Bay residents and NovaWorld Phan Thiet.
At the same time, Binh Thuan province also organizes annual events, imbued province’s tourism characteristics associated with natural elements, such as a professional bicycle race taking advantage of the Bau Trang double road, and an Sand hill off-road motorbike race, kitesurfing on the sea, kite flying festival on Trinh Nu hill. The province is designing specialized sports tournaments for tourists such as kite flying, parasailing, marathon running...
Following experts, in addition to strengthening image and brand promotion, in order for Binh Thuan tourism to continue to "take off", it is necessary to focus on improving quality and expanding links, creating more new, high-class products, and services.
It is also necessary to continue to promote the advantages of the destination with many types of attractive tourism, especially sea - island tourism, exploring forests - waterfalls - lakes, recreational sports on the sea - sand dunes. From there, the province can invite strategic investors with capacity and experience to implement "highlighted" projects according to the province's development plan.
In addition, Binh Thuan needs to pay attention to investing in perfecting telecommunications and information technology infrastructure systems, providing free Wifi networks at tourist areas and destinations, spreading the image of a "Safe - Friendly - Attractive - Quality" destination to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
