On September 24, within the framework of participating in the high-level general debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, combined with bilateral activities in the United States, Member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat and Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung met with Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting, Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam highly value the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation, consistently regarding Russia as one of the foremost partners in Vietnam's foreign policy.
The Acting Minister Foreign conveyed the gratitude of Vietnam's senior Party and State leaders to President Vladimir Putin and Russian Federation leaders for sending a high-level delegation led by First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Vladimir Yakushev to attend the 80th National Day of Vietnam.

Congratulating Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung on his new position, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that Russia always values its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised the positive development of bilateral relations and agreed with Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung's proposal to enhance high-level and various levels of exchanges and contacts, including deepening Party channel relations.
Both sides agreed to continue promoting cooperation in economics, trade, investment, oil and gas, energy, education and training, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, particularly accelerating the implementation of key cooperation projects in various fields.
On this occasion, the two Foreign Ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums and exchanged views on several international and regional issues of mutual interest.
