A visit to Quang Ninh Museum is well-recommended to anyone

Spreading nearly 24,000m2 on the most beautiful coastal road of Halong City, Quang Ninh Museum is not only an indispensable place for culture vultures but also a unique structure for youngsters to check-in.

Located on the October 30 Square on Tran Quoc Nghien Road overlooking Ha Long Bay, the building was designed by Spanish designer Salvador Perez Arroyo, who was inspired by the image of a lump of coal, the typical mineral of Quang Ninh province. From the outside, it looks like a giant black mirror.

Quang Ninh Museum is divided into three floors. Floor 1 creates a space to introduce some natural conditions of Quang Ninh; floor 2 is a designing space as symbol of a boat and floor 3 symbols some developing periods of coal exploitation.

The first floor of Quang Ninh Museum is the space of the sea and nature. Quang Ninh province prides itself on its magnificent natural beauty of Halong Bay, local’s fishing life, and perse marine ecosystem that attracts tourists for a beach vacation.

Therefore, the first floor is dedicated to geology, seascapes, species, and many more in Quang Ninh. A unique feature is the four columns decorated to reflect the rocky mountains of Halong Bay - Quang Ninh’s pride.

The second floor of Quang Ninh Museum gives visitors an insight into the life of Quang Ninh locals throughout thousands of years. It reflects the historical past, religious values, and war times. The displays are vibrant and meticulous, adding to the values of the museum.

The third floor is all about Quang Ninh’s famous coal mining industry, one significant aspect of local life. Strolling through space, you will get an insight into the history and development of coal mining in Quang Ninh. You can also admire the efforts of the hard-working miners through the stimulation space.

Quang Ninh Museum was recognized as the top-ranking one in the system of museums in Vietnam by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in December 2021.

A visit to Quang Ninh Museum is well-recommended to anyone interested in the history and culture of the Quang Ninh province. It offers a unique glimpse into the development and history of the region and of the daily lives of its inhabitants over the centuries.
