9 Languages, One Love: Nguyen Sieu Youth Pay Tribute to the Nation

Amidst the jubilant atmosphere celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s success and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Sep 2nd, 1945 – Sep 2nd, 2025), students from Nguyen Sieu School have presented a special spiritual gift: the music video “Youth of Ho Chi Minh’s Generation” performed in nine languages. From the small schoolyard, the proud national melody resonates far and wide, connecting the love for the homeland with the global integration aspirations of today’s youth.

The special music video “Youth of Ho Chi Minh’s Generation”, featuring an original song by Composer Trieu Dang, is a meticulously crafted artistic product. It conveys a message of national pride and gratitude to previous generations, and affirms the international integration aspirations of today’s Vietnamese youth.

This project was produced by a team including Master Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy (production organiser), Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan (production manager), director Son Tran, production assistants Vu Thi Ly and Tran Huong Giang, along with Nguyen Sieu students, each performing the song in a different language:

· Nguyen Bao Anh (7ME2 – Polish)

· Nguyen Minh Tung (7CI2 – Japanese)

· Ngo Tue Man (7CI5 – Chinese)

· Dau Khanh Phuong (11AS2 – Chinese)

· Luu Thanh Lam (8IG1S4 – Russian)

· Do Gia Minh (10IG2S3 – German)

· Bui Tuan Minh (11AE2 – Vietnamese)

The music video was produced right at Nguyen Sieu School – a pioneer in bilingual education and global citizenship training. The production process involved meticulous stages, all undertaken by the students themselves: from translating the lyrics into nine languages, performing with diverse vocal styles, to creatively expressing the song. All of this stems from the national spirit ever-present in the hearts of Nguyen Sieu students. The love for the homeland and the pride of being part of Ho Chi Minh’s generation motivated them to create a meaningful artistic work. According to director Son Tran, the students practised continuously for weeks, honing their pronunciation and fully expressing emotions in each language.

The significance of the music video lies not only in bringing a traditional song closer to audiences in nine languages but also in spreading the spirit of integration and globalisation. Nguyen Sieu students have contributed to bringing Vietnamese music closer to international friends, affirming the image of a confident and resilient young Vietnamese generation in the global era. Upon watching the music video, many parents emotionally shared that they saw “the image of a confident, integrated Vietnamese youth, yet steadfast in preserving national identity”. This is also a vivid testament to the school’s educational philosophy: nurturing students to become global citizens, proud of their Vietnamese identity, while ready for international integration.

The music video “Youth of Ho Chi Minh’s Generation” is part of a series of activities celebrating the 80th National Day at Nguyen Sieu School. Notable among these is the “Homeland in the Heart” creative contest, featuring over 1,437 paintings and dozens of musical compositions, poems, and short videos created by students. The music video “Nothing More Beautiful” by class 7CI5 stands out among them.

Simultaneously, the school organised many meaningful activities: thematic sessions “80 Years – A Proud Journey”, which inspired love for history and nurtured national pride; notably, on August 20, nearly 2,000 teachers and students gathered to form a giant national flag on the school grounds and sang “As If Uncle Ho Were Here on the Joyful Victory Day” – a moment that stirred strong emotions. This activity later spread on social media, attracting thousands of shares and positive comments.

Furthermore, Nguyen Sieu students produced many short videos throughout August, conveying meaningful messages towards A80 – a significant historical milestone for the nation.

With its unique presentation, the music video “Youth of Ho Chi Minh’s Generation” becomes a special spiritual gift for National Day, sending a powerful message about the aspirations, faith, and responsibility of the young generation towards the homeland. It is also a testament to the national pride of Nguyen Sieu students – today’s Ho Chi Minh generation, always ready to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, building the nation and integrating with the world.
