The pilgrimage program Through the Northwest - Back to Dien Bien hosted by the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations will take place from April 15 to 21, 2024.

The pilgrimage group is expected to have the participation of 70 writers and artists. The group will go through locations: Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Son La and Dien Bien.

The event takes place on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (7th May 1954 - 2024), hosted by the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations and specialized Literary and Arts Associations.

Central branches, and Literature and Art Associations of provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, in coordination with provincial leaders by Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien.

The pilgrimage to the source Through the Northwest - back to Dien Bien is a solemn and meaningful march in the 76th anniversary of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, expressing emotions and awareness, the responsibility of today's generations of writers and artists.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations emphasized: "This is a peak political and artistic activity of the country's literature and arts community, with the aim of promoting the heroic tradition of our army and people, demonstrating the attachment and companionship of literature and arts. with the nation's heroic history".

The journey to the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory which “resounded throughout the five continents and was world-shaking” in 1954 still has left many indelible marks in the work by the team of writers and artists.

According to Associate Professor. Dr., Musician Do Hong Quan, writers and artists such as poet Nguyen Dinh Thi, painter To Ngoc Van, painter Nguyen Bich, musician Hoang Van, musician Do Nhuan, etc, promptly had reflected the life and combat of our people and soldiers, and left behind many literary and artistic works which will live forever. The trip will be an important occasion to remember and pay tribute to the writers and artists who came to Dien Bien.

The pilgrimage program Through the Northwest - Back to Dien Bien contributes to strengthening cultural and artistic exchanges, making creative direction, and launching emulation for creative works. High quality in Literature and Arts majors, worthy of the nation's historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, practical and successful implementation of the Party's Resolutions, moving towards the Congress of Literature and Arts Associations Central specialized arts and the Union of Vietnam Literature and Arts Associations for the term 2025-2030, said Dr. Quan.

At the same time, the pilgrimage program aims to honor and deeply express gratitude to the generations of Vietnamese compatriots who have devoted, sacrificed, and made many contributions in the cause of fighting to protect independence and gain national reunification; promote communication and promotion at home and abroad about the country, people and Literature and Arts in the new era.
