14th National Party Congress: Great national unity - A foundation and key driver for achieving development goals in the new era
WVR - On January 21, during the discussion session on the draft documents at the 14th National Party Congress, Party Central Committee Member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Ha Thi Nga, on behalf of the VFF Party Committee and Central Mass Organizations, presented a paper titled: "Harnessing the Power of Great National Unity – A Foundation and Key Driver for Achieving Development Goals in the New Era".

VFF Vice President Nga emphasized: Throughout the revolutionary leadership process, our Party has consistently inherited and creatively applied Hồ Chí Minh's ideology on great national unity; steadfastly adhering to the principle "the people are the root", closely connecting with the people, and enhancing consensus among various social strata, ethnic groups, religions, and overseas Vietnamese communities, thereby building a unified bloc of great national unity in terms of will and action.
In the past term, the Party and State have continued to issue and implement comprehensive policies, creating a solid foundation to harness the power of great national unity. As a result, social consensus has been continuously expanded, and the people's trust in the Party and State has been increasingly strengthened; the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and community responsibility has been strongly promoted, leveraging the collective strength of the people in national development.
Notably, under the Party's leadership, the VFF has vigorously renewed its content and operational methods, effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns, achieving positive results with widespread impact. Through these movements and campaigns, the strength of great national unity and the core role of the VFF have been affirmed. The VFF and its member organizations have increasingly fulfilled their role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
Through social supervision, criticism activities, voter contact, and direct dialogue, the VFF focuses on practical issues, promptly summarizing and reflecting the people's opinions and recommendations, contributing to resolving social grievances.
Through the VFF's supervisory channels, the people actively participate in contributing to the Party and government building, reflecting management and administrative execution inadequacies, providing information to help authorities address many cases; contributing to positive changes in Party building and political system work.
The organizational apparatus of the VFF system and political-social organizations has been streamlined and operates smoothly, creating a solid foundation for successfully organizing the VFF Congress and political-social organizations at all levels, moving towards the National Congress for the 2026 – 2031 term.
As our country enters a new era – the era of knowledge, innovation, digital transformation, and deep international integration with intertwined opportunities and challenges; harnessing the power of the great national unity bloc becomes a strategic factor, an important driver for the country to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and develop sustainably.
To harness this power, the VFF proposes that the Party and State make comprehensive breakthroughs in awareness, policy, and implementation mechanisms, turning the spirit of unity into specific, effective actions; enhancing mechanisms for democratic, transparent implementation, ensuring the people's participation in opinions, social supervision, and criticism; proposing that all levels of government and sectors clearly fulfill accountability for the people's recommendations. Then, great national unity will become an important lever, driving national development and resilience in the face of global changes.
To implement the 14th Party Congress Resolution, in the coming time, the VFF Party Committee and Central Mass Organizations identify that more than ever, the VFF must fully utilize its role as a political alliance and voluntary union of political organizations, political-social organizations, social organizations, and prominent individuals across social classes, ethnic groups, religions, and overseas Vietnamese.
The VFF and its member organizations will continue to vigorously and comprehensively renew content, methods, and operational mechanisms, focusing on people's livelihood, democracy, and civil rights; improving the quality of VFF staff, political-social organizations, and grassroots, restructuring and operating the organizational system according to a new model and mechanism: "one task – one focal point – one deadline – one result"; enhancing the quality of social supervision and criticism.
Annually, the Central Committee of the VFF needs to specifically identify and lead the implementation of social supervision and criticism programs nationwide on practical issues, draft laws, and important legal documents to ensure effectiveness and substance. Movements and campaigns led by the VFF and its member organizations need clear objectives, responsibilities, deadlines, measurable results, linked with political tasks, and suitable to practical situations. Focus on implementing exemplary, practical models serving the community.
Additionally, the VFF needs to expand people's diplomacy to spread the spirit of unity, the image of the Vietnamese country and people, contributing to consolidating a peaceful, cooperative, and sustainable development environment. Promote democracy and the people's ownership rights; continue to propose institutionalizing into mandatory processes the motto: "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit"; effectively perform the VFF's role and responsibility in implementing the mechanism: Party leadership, State management, people as the owners, enhancing direct dialogue mechanisms, annually organizing the "Month of Listening to the People", applying technology and digital transformation to promptly listen, expand connections, receive and respond to people's opinions 24/7 on the digital Front platform, so that the VFF truly becomes a place where people entrust their faith, where every voice of the people is heard and respected.
The VFF must truly be the connecting thread between the Party, State, and people, a place that turns correct policies into correct actions and correct results; continue to be the center to promote and strongly ignite the aspiration and innovative spirit among all social classes, gathering and attracting the strength of workers, farmers, youth, women, intellectuals, compatriots, religions, and overseas Vietnamese to contribute their efforts and intellect to the country's development.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed the truth: "In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people; in the world, nothing is stronger than the united force of the people" and "Unity, unity, great unity; success, success, great success". With the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the active participation of the entire people, we have a solid foundation to realize the aspiration of building a prosperous, democratic, just, civilized, and happy Vietnam in the era of national resurgence, meeting the trust and expectations of the people, VFF Vice President Ha Thi Nga emphasized.
