Taking place in an atmosphere of excitement following the resounding success of the 14th National Party Congress, the ceremony was an occasion for all officials and party members of Vietnam's representative agencies in New York to reflect on the glorious tradition of the Party. It was also a moment to express profound gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations who sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
Sharing thoughts and memorable experiences in their journey as party members, representatives from the diplomatic corps, military attachés, science and technology officials, and press agencies in New York expressed pride in being part of the Party. They affirmed their strong belief in the Party's leadership role in building and defending the nation, gradually leading Vietnam towards sustainable development along the socialist path.
All affirmed their determination to fulfill all assigned tasks, making practical contributions to the collective efforts of the entire Party, people, and military to successfully achieve the country's development goals in the new phase.
On this occasion, Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Head of the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and a delegate to the 14th National Party Congress, informed all officials and party members of Vietnam's agencies in New York about the main outcomes of the Congress. The Ambassador emphasized the historical significance of the 14th Congress for the country's development direction in the coming decades, confidently stepping into a new era, an era of national resurgence.
Highlighting the meticulous and comprehensive preparation for the 14th Congress, evident in the quality of its content, documents, and personnel work, Ambassador Do Hung Viet provided specific information on the goals, guiding principles, major orientations, and strategic breakthroughs identified by the Congress. He also emphasized the need for decisive and swift action in implementing the Congress's resolutions in the coming time.
For the first time, foreign affairs and international integration were identified as "essential and regular" tasks alongside national defense and security. The Congress affirmed the continued pursuit of an independent, self-reliant foreign policy, multilateralization, diversification, proactive and active comprehensive international integration, contributing positively and responsibly to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Do Hung Viet urged all officials and party members of the representative agencies in New York to promptly study, learn, and deeply understand the documents of the 14th National Party Congress, applying them appropriately to their practical work in the area.
