This is the result of a large-scale fundraising effort within the Vietnamese community in Czech, responding to the call from the Central Committee of the VFF.
In the first phase, the overseas Vietnamese contributed 5.4 billion VND. To date, the total amount has exceeded 10 billion VND, and the community continues to send support back home.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Phạm Thị Kim Hoa - Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Lò Trung Kiên - Deputy Head of Social Affairs, Central Committee of the VFF; Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Hương, Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Czech, and several members of the Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Phạm Thị Kim Hoa acknowledged and appreciated the sentiments of the overseas Vietnamese. She stated: “Despite being far from the homeland, the Vietnamese community in Czech always looks towards their roots.
These heartfelt contributions are a source of strength to help those in disaster-stricken areas overcome difficult times, providing significant encouragement to those in storm-affected regions. The contributions reflect a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and deep love for the homeland.”
Ms. Phạm Thị Kim Hoa affirmed that this is a vivid testament to the great national unity, showcasing the profound affection and dedication towards the homeland and country of Vietnamese people, no matter where they are.
She also highly praised the spirit of sharing, mutual support, and the enthusiasm of the Vietnamese community in Czech, who have returned home to directly donate and share with those in flood-affected areas.
At the event, Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Hương, representing the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Czech, asserted: “The community in Czech always follows every change in the homeland. We will continue to mobilize to spread the spirit of 'mutual support' more widely within the community.”
Currently, the fundraising activities are still ongoing, with hopes that the spirit of sharing will spread more widely among the global Vietnamese community.
He further shared that on December 8–9, the delegation from the Union directly returned to the homeland to deliver 3.195 billion VND to households affected in Khánh Hòa and Đắk Lắk, providing urgent support to help them overcome difficulties.
The trip allowed the delegation to witness firsthand the lives of people in flood-affected areas, thereby strongly spreading the affection of those far from home.
