Ms. Thao shared that the Vietnam Red Cross Society, founded by President Ho Chi Minh in 1946, currently plays a pivotal role in humanitarian activities with nearly 8 million staff, members, and volunteers nationwide. The Society comprehensively implements seven areas under the Law on Red Cross Activities, ranging from emergency relief, healthcare, first aid, disaster response to voluntary blood donation and support for finding missing relatives.

Recently, storms and floods have caused severe damage in Central Vietnam. The Central Committee of the Society promptly activated the emergency response system, mobilized on-site forces, and provided essential relief supplies to help residents stabilize their initial livelihoods.

This will serve as a foundation for both sides to enhance delegation exchanges, share experiences in disaster response, healthcare, blood donation, volunteer development, and coordinate the implementation of bilateral humanitarian programs.

The Central Committee affirmed its readiness to act as a bridge to promote humanitarian initiatives, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Czech for peace, stability, and sustainable development.

Vietnam frequently faces natural disasters, storms, and the increasingly severe impacts of climate change.

According to Mr. Milos Vystrcil, the aid provided by Czech to Vietnam, although not large in material terms, carries profound significance in solidarity, reflecting a commitment to overcoming challenges together.
