The Ambassador praised Halotel as a symbol of economic and technological cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania. Beyond being a telecommunications company, Halotel consistently chooses to accompany the people of Tanzania from urban centers to rural and remote areas.
As Tanzania builds and develops Dodoma into the country's administrative center, Halotel has committed to strong investments in digital infrastructure, modern technology, and social responsibility activities to accompany the development of the new capital.
The Ambassador stated that over 11 years of operation in Tanzania, Halotel has invested approximately 1 billion USD, with an average reinvestment of about 100 million USD annually, building an extensive telecommunications network nationwide, particularly in rural and challenging areas. Thanks to these efforts, Halotel currently holds about 17% of the telecommunications market share and is one of the fastest-growing carriers in Tanzania.
Emphasizing the development philosophy of “business linked with social responsibility”, the Ambassador affirmed that Halotel is not just in Tanzania to build broadcast stations or provide telecommunications services but also aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the local community. The Ambassador stressed: “We believe that no one, especially no child, should be left behind in the digital era.”
According to the Ambassador, the donation of the Smart Mini-Lab model and Internet connectivity will open up opportunities for over 800 students at the school to access knowledge and technology. Technology is an effective tool to bridge the development gap, helping the younger generation access global knowledge, enhance digital skills, and better prepare for the future.
The Ambassador also expressed hope that the school's board and local authorities will manage, maintain, and effectively utilize the donated equipment to serve many generations of students in the coming years.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy, the Ambassador extended sincere thanks to the Revolutionary Party (CCM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, local authorities, and the local community for always accompanying, supporting, and facilitating Halotel's activities in Tanzania.
