On the afternoon of October 16, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a reporter's question about Vietnam's reaction to the U.S. Department of State's release of the 2025 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report), Spokesperson Hang emphasized: “Vietnam welcomes the United States' objective assessment of its positive results in combating human trafficking in recent times.”
Spokesperson Hang stated that Vietnam has been implementing and promoting anti-human trafficking efforts through key solutions and tasks outlined in the Anti-Human Trafficking Program for the 2021-2025 period, with orientations towards 2030. Notably, this includes the enactment of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law in 2024, enhancing the investigation, prosecution, and adjudication of trafficking cases, identifying and supporting trafficking victims, and promptly responding to new challenges in regional and global human trafficking situations.
“Vietnam is also striving to achieve the goals of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) under the Plan issued by the Prime Minister on March 20, 2020, aiming to strengthen a transparent migration environment, protect the legitimate rights and interests of migrants, and prevent the risk of human trafficking in international migration activities,” Phạm Thu Hằng shared.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated that, in this spirit, Vietnam hopes the two countries will continue to cooperate closely, enhance exchanges and dialogues to comprehensively and positively evaluate Vietnam's efforts and achievements in combating human trafficking, in line with the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.
