Both sides affirmed that the Vietnam-Republic of Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is in a positive development phase, with significant progress across all fields, from politics, defense, and security to economy, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed gratitude to Minister Cho Hyun and the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for closely coordinating and successfully arranging the state visit to Republic of Korea by General Secretary To Lam and his spouse in August 2025. This visit serves as an important foundation for both sides to continue promoting breakthroughs in bilateral relations. Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed that the two countries continue to concretize and implement the agreements and commitments reached during the state visit, while also exploring further cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and education and training.
Foreign Minister Cho Hyun congratulated Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung on his new position, affirming that Vietnam is a top important partner for Republic of Korea in the region.
Agreeing with the proposals of Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, Foreign Minister Cho Hyun expressed the desire for both sides to continue close cooperation to effectively implement the contents of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially in trade, innovation, and human resource training.
Foreign Minister Cho Hyun also suggested that the two countries continue to closely coordinate to prepare well for delegation exchanges, particularly high-level exchanges in the near future.
Both sides also agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, while exchanging views on some international and regional issues of mutual concern.
