Vice State President now Acting President

Mme. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice State President, assumes the position of Acting President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from March 21, 2024, until the National Assembly elects a new President, an announcement of the National Assembly (NA)’s Standing Committee read.

Issued on March 21 following the 15th NA’s 6th extraordinary session, Announcement No. 765/TB-UBTVQH15 about Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan was made based on the Constitution and relevant legal provisions.

General Secretary of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong has just issued a Press Release on the exercise of the President's rights of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The announcement clearly states that on March 21, 2024, immediately after the closing of the 6th Extraordinary Session, the 15th National Assembly, based on the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the provisions of law, has Relatedly, the UBTVQH issued Notice No. 765/TB-UBTVQH15 on exercising the rights of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Accordingly, Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Vice President will hold the acting President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from March 21, 2024, until the National Assembly elects a new President.
