Many sites have welcomed a large number of visitors, especially as Christmas and New Year holidays are approaching.
Nearly two months after tourism activities were resumed, tourist arrivals to Da Lat city in the Central Highlands of Lam Dong have been on the rise, particularly on weekends.
Open space cafés and famous outdoor tourist destinations in the city may attract large crowds of up to thousands of people daily.
Furthermore, it is currently the best time to visit Phu Quoc island of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang. The cool weather is ideal for sightseeing and recreation activities. Dubbed ‘Pearl Island’, it has been a draw to domestic and foreign holidaymakers.
Director of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai said that the implementation of ‘vaccine passport’ for foreign travellers and regulations to co-exist with the pandemic in the new normal, the number of tourists to Kien Giang has been rising since November.
In November alone, the province welcomed about 300,000 visitors, a 10-fold surge compared to the previous month. Of them, 290,000 tourists, including 1,400 foreigners, traveled to Phu Quoc.
Vietnamese and foreign tourists have given their positive feedback on their time in Phu Quoc. COVID-19 preventive measures have been in place and mobile medical groups quickly take action once being notified of visitors’ health problems.
Localities and businesses are advised to uphold the role of alliances and linkages between destinations, firms, airlines and hotels, among others, so as to build new, safe and appealing tourism programmes and packages, for sustainable recovery of the sector amid complexities brought by the ongoing pandemic.
