SiviCamp 2026: Young Vietnamese in Europe connect technology, knowledge, and identity
WVR - The Summer Camp for Talented Vietnamese Youth and Students in Germany – SiviCamp 2026 took place from September 17-20 in Frankfurt, gathering over 200 Vietnamese youth and students studying and working in Germany and various European countries.

The program creates a space for community connection, skill development, innovation promotion, and the spread of Vietnamese cultural identity.
SiviCamp is an annual program of the young Vietnamese community in Germany, organized alternately in cities with chapters under the Vietnamese Student Association in the Federal Republic of Germany. Over more than a decade, the program has become a connecting activity for Vietnamese youth and students in Germany, while also expanding the network of exchanges with young Vietnamese in European countries.
This year, with the theme “SiviCamp 2026 – RAMmastic” and the message “AI also has to start somewhere”, the program places significant focus on science, technology, and innovation.
SiviCamp 2026 is organized by the Vietnamese Student Association in the Federal Republic of Germany (SiviDuc) in collaboration with the Vietnam-Germany Innovation Network (VGI) and the Vietnamese Student Association in Frankfurt am Main (VSAF), with the participation of representatives from diplomatic missions, community organizations, experts, businesses, and a large number of Vietnamese youth and students in Europe.

In his opening speech, Phung Van Uoc, Chairman of the Vietnamese Student Association in the Federal Republic of Germany and Head of the Organizing Committee, raised the issue of the relationship between humans and technology in the context of rapidly developing artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need for young people not only to access but also to proactively experiment with and master technology.
Vietnamese Consul General in Frankfurt Luu Xuan Dong highly appreciated the intelligence, talent, and innovative spirit of the young Vietnamese generation in Germany, stating that incorporating Hackathon into the summer camp program is a new approach, contributing to the concretization of orientations on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Within the framework of SiviHack, 14 teams have 24 continuous hours to develop products, build solutions, and complete presentations based on two technology challenges posed by professional partners. Participants apply knowledge of technology, AI, automation, and product development, while honing teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
According to the Organizing Committee, SiviHack is not just a technology competition but also aims to build a space connecting young Vietnamese with experts, businesses, and the innovation ecosystem in Germany. Through real-world challenges, the competition creates conditions for knowledge to be transformed into ideas and products with application potential.

Another highlight of SiviCamp is the Gala SIVITA 2026 – an annual artistic playground for the young Vietnamese community in Germany. The Gala night features 12 performances in various forms such as modern dance, solo singing, duets, and instrumental ensembles. Performances by the Jury, combining traditional Vietnamese instruments and Western classical music, also contribute to creating a cultural intersection, encouraging the younger generation to continue preserving and promoting Vietnamese identity.
With three components: SiviHack, SiviTour, and SIVITA, SiviCamp 2026 expands the activity space for Vietnamese youth and students in Germany from community exchange to technology, innovation, culture, and art. The program simultaneously creates opportunities for young people to develop skills, expand their network, and strengthen connections with the Vietnamese community and partners in Europe.

According to the Organizing Committee, the media activities of SiviCamp 2026 attracted over 1.2 million views and 20,000 interactions on social media. These figures, along with the participation of more than 200 youth and students, demonstrate the program's influence within the young Vietnamese community.
Concluding in Frankfurt, SiviCamp 2026 leaves behind a journey combining technology, knowledge, culture, and community spirit, thereby contributing to creating an environment for young Vietnamese in Europe to interact, develop capabilities, connect knowledge, and spread Vietnamese values in an international environment.
