Green, circular economic development is inevitable

According to Resolution No. 23, the Central Highlands is a particularly important strategic area, but its development has not been commensurate with its potential and advantages; economic growth rate is unsustainable, tends to slow down.

In order to develop the Central Highlands region, the Resolution defines views, goals, tasks and solutions for the region as "a region of rapid and sustainable development based on a green and circular economy; rich in national cultural identity, unique destination, attracting domestic and international tourists. Developing a highly efficient agricultural economy, based on science - technology, innovation and digital transformation; forming a number of large-scale agricultural products with international brands associated with processing centers…”.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Thai Huong said that in the context of climate change and sea level rise, the Central Highlands will be a solid foundation for the future and should be maintained by the path of sustainable development, with the model green economy, knowledge economy, circular economy as pointed out by Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW.

This enterprise has invested in green economy, circular economy with the project of planting 500 hectares of new durian varieties in Kon Tum province from 2 years ago. Currently, the group is preparing a project to submit to Kon Tum province and the Central Highlands to develop the economy under the forest canopy on the basis of green economic models, circular economy and knowledge economy.

Need to attract large enterprises

According to Ms. Thai Huong, the Central Highlands can develop in four directions.

Firstly, animal husbandry focuses on applying high technology, bringing farmers along the value chain, closed production. “I will bring the high-tech concentrated dairy farming model in the chain that TH is doing in Nghe An to the Central Highlands. Currently, TH has a plan to deploy in Dak Nong and surrounding areas, bringing farmers to become a link in this great livestock chain; then plant fruit trees, flavor trees and spices”, Ms. Thai Huong informed.

Secondly, planting multi-layered trees combining deep processing and logistics to create branded products and goods for the region.

In addition, the Central Highlands has a good source of groundwater because of the ecology of volcanoes, which is also a direction of exploitation that can be concentrated. Vietnamese consumers deserve the best pure water.

Thirdly, mining minerals in a sustainable way. Modern science must be included in order to develop a green economy and leave no consequences when exploiting resources.

Fourthly, developing eco-tourism and resort tourism. According to Ms. Thai Huong, it is necessary to plan the Central Highlands region to create a community-based tourism park with diversity and the soul of the nation (including cultural tourism, culinary tourism, craft village tourism, etc.).

She believes that the development of these four key areas will create more conditions to promote other fields to follow.

In order to concretize the sustainable development of the Central Highlands, the Chairman of the Strategy Council of TH Group said that it is necessary for the participation of enterprises with sufficient capacity, enthusiasm and vision to apply world technology, bring people to develop together.

“The Central Highlands has not yet developed to the right stature. In the Central Highlands, there are no large enough enterprises and corporations. The government needs to have appropriate policies to attract these enterprises,” noted Ms. Thai Huong.

At the conference, TH Group together with Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee and Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee signed Memorandum of Understanding to develop high-tech investment projects in the direction of green economy, knowledge economy, circular economy on the basis of sustainable development in the fields of agriculture, forestry and herbal medicine; trade, service, tourism; mining industry.
