This event is part of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ (ICCR) annual festivals, which invite global cultural performers, including from Vietnam, to showcase their heritage in India through performances such as “Trống cơm” (Rice Drum) folk dance in the Northen Delta of Vietnam, “Mời nước mời trầu” (Have some tea and betel leaves) Quan Họ folk songs and “Cô đôi thượng ngàn” (Second Mistress of Mountains and Forests) Chầu Văn singing etc.

All local support for participating visiting groups was sponsored by ICCR.

Another 8-member Traditional Art Delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Dance graced the Bali Yatra Festival in Cuttack, Odisha, from November 19–22, 2024. The participation was sponsored entirely by the Government of Odisha and supported by India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Their performances representing rich artistic traditions of Vietnam, spanning from the mountainous northern regions to the Red River Delta and the Central Highlands captivated audiences with a vivid portrayal of Vietnam’s diverse cultural landscapes.

People-level bonds of friendship, warmth, understanding and appreciation are key element of India – Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. SVCC, Embassy of India, Hanoi together with the ICCR – New Delhi, Ministry of Culture of India and state authorities of India continue to promote bilateral cultural exchanges and people-level ties towards stronger Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
