In the afternoon of November 12, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a press conference to summarize the 2025 National Press Awards “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education.”
Delivering the opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, and Chairman of the Final Jury, emphasized that 2025 marks eight years since the Awards were launched and continuously maintained, becoming a beautiful symbol of the bond between journalism and education—where humanistic values are honored, and trust and aspirations for renewal are spread throughout society.
The Awards are not merely a professional activity; they have truly become a spiritual forum for writers devoted to knowledge, to people, and to the future of the nation.
According to Mr. Loi, the Awards attracted more than 800 entries across four types of journalism: Print, Online, Radio, and Television.
What is especially meaningful is that alongside central-level media agencies, many local outlets—from mountainous and island regions to remote and isolated areas—also contributed their voices and real-life stories to the vibrant picture of Vietnamese education today.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi affirmed that each entry is not only the crystallization of a journalist’s creative labor but also a powerful message about society’s trust in education. Journalism continues to be a companion, a voice of critique, and a source of inspiration supporting the education sector on its path of fundamental and comprehensive reform.
The awards are not only a tribute to outstanding journalistic works but also an expression of gratitude for social responsibility, dedication, and unwavering belief in the power of knowledge and education.
Education has always been an endless source of inspiration for journalism, and journalism serves as a bridge that brings education closer to the heart of society.
The Standing Vice Chairman expressed confidence that, with the companionship of journalism and the whole society, Vietnam will continue to cultivate a humanistic, creative, and globally integrated education system, contributing to realizing the aspiration for a prosperous and happy nation.
Sharing at the press conference, Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Giao duc va Thoi dai Newspaper, stressed that the entries demonstrate clear maturity among journalists covering education—from topic selection and data handling to modern, multimedia presentation methods.
Many series addressed pressing issues of the sector, such as implementing the Teachers Law 2025, reviewing the 2018 General Education Curriculum, developing digital education and artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, promoting skills education and school psychology, as well as initiatives for safe, happy, and creative schools.
According to Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam, the quality of entries was consistent, and the gap between central and local journalism has narrowed. Many works were authentic, emotional, and moving, showing reporters’ commitment and having strong social impact.
The Editor-in-Chief noted that, compared to previous seasons, the number of participating units decreased due to consolidation and mergers of media agencies, but the number of submitted works remained diverse and abundant, spanning from north to south.
The quality of works from localities also improved in both content and presentation; therefore, the number of award-winning local works increased significantly compared to previous years.

The National Press Awards “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” is held annually, demonstrating MOET’s attention to media agencies nationwide, as journalism has always accompanied the education sector throughout its reform process. This is an award with profound social and humanistic significance.
“The success of the Awards affirms the role of journalism in the nation’s educational and training cause—and the especially important role of education and training in building and protecting the Fatherland,” said Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam.
Sharing his views, Mr. Le Thanh Kim, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dai bieu nhan dan Newspaper and Chairman of the Preliminary Jury, stated that this year’s entries focus on three major groups of issues: implementation of education and training policies; exemplary models; and exemplary individuals among teachers, pupils, and students.
According to Mr. Kim, these are the three main themes strongly reflected in this year’s submissions. This year also saw many major policies for education and training, such as the Teachers Law, private tutoring regulations, tuition waivers, and Politburo Resolution No.71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, on breakthroughs in developing education and training. All four types of journalism highlighted these topics in depth.
He added that even works that take a critical stance must remain constructive. This year, although the number of entries addressing negative issues or policy criticism was not large, such works still existed—and some even won awards.
