Since the August Revolution of 1945, the land of Phu Tho today still retains its historical values and glorious revolutionary traditions. Every development phase is tied to the sacrifices and contributions of generations, creating a rich tapestry of patriotism, solidarity, and aspiration for advancement.
July 2025 marks a significant milestone as the three provinces of Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh merge to form the new Phu Tho province. This new province possesses vast development space, creating a new position and strength for a robust and sustainable growth journey.
With an area of nearly 9,400km2 and a population of over 4 million, Phu Tho province gathers unique values in geopolitics, economy, culture, national defense, security, and international cooperation.
This is a land rich in tradition, internal strength, and great aspiration, where people share a common belief in a prosperous and sustainable future. Phú Thọ is forming socio-economic dynamic zones, playing a leading role in growth and spreading development throughout the province.
80 years of steady development and integration
In the late August and early September of this year, at Hall 7, Kim Quy Exhibition House, National Exhibition Fair Center (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi), visitors from all over the country can admire the display space of Phu Tho province themed "Phu Tho – 80 Years of Steady Development and Integration". This is a special highlight of the exhibition, not only for its cultural depth but also for its inspiring development story.
From the sacred ancestral land, Phu Tho introduces visitors to a journey back to the national roots, where the glorious past blends with the strong aspiration to rise, reflecting the spirit of innovation, creativity, and deep integration with the country.
Phu Tho has undergone an 80-year journey full of upheavals and development. Once known as an agricultural province, primarily relying on traditional agricultural production, Phu Tho is now becoming a dynamic development center of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region.
In the Phu Tho space, visitors can admire precious documentary images from the resistance wars against the French and Americans. Historical imprints associated with President Ho Chi Minh and Party and State leaders who visited the locality are vividly recreated, evoking pride in revolutionary traditions.
The exhibition space is harmoniously designed between tradition and modernity. Archaeological artifacts such as plow blades, axes, and spears, representing Dong Son culture, are placed alongside OCOP products like Hùng Lô rice noodles and Thanh Sơn tea, showcasing the connection between past and present, between indigenous culture and modern production technology.
Notably, the exhibition also recreates the administrative boundary merger process between Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh, creating a new land with three resources and three cultural identities converged for development. This is a testament to the solidarity, creativity, and determination for innovation of the Party, government, and people of the province.
Additionally, the cultural space vividly recreates the Hung Temple Festival, Xoan singing, and folk rituals of the Mường ethnic group, combined with modern projection technology, offering a multi-sensory experience for viewers. Mường gongs – a cultural treasure of the Muong people – are introduced as a symbol of community cohesion. Today, Phu Tho not only rises strongly in socio-economic terms but also maintains its position as the cultural cradle of the Vietnamese nation.
Deputy Director of the Phú Thọ Provincial Center for Culture, Information, and Cinema Bui Thu Quyen shared that Phu Tho is a land of extraordinary people with a rich history and unique cultural traditions. Phu Tho has many cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage representing humanity, such as the Worship of Hung Kings, Xoan singing, and many national intangible cultural heritages like Duc Bac drum singing, Mo Muong, and San Diu people's Soong co singing...
"Through the exhibition, besides introducing to the people, domestic and international tourists the political, economic, and social achievements, potential resources, and strengths of the province, we also aim to introduce and promote the unique and distinctive traditional cultural identity of the ancestral land, while seeking cultural exchange and admiring achievements in various fields from provinces and cities across the country".

In the new development phase, Phu Tho aims to become a centre for industry, commerce, logistics, tourism, healthcare, and high-quality training in the region, with a specific goal of achieving a GRDP growth rate of 11-12% by 2030. The province also envisions becoming a centrally governed city by 2045.
