Opportunities for Phu Lang pottery to reach further
With a tradition of nearly 800 years, Phu Lang pottery has experienced significant transformations. From the early days of producing everyday items like jars and pots, Phu Lang has now expanded to a wide range of decorative and artistic products.
In Phu Lang, about 200 households, with over 1,000 people, are dedicated to pottery day and night. Over the past 10 years, adapting to market trends, the village's artisans have created new, diverse products with various designs and styles (jars, vases, flower pots)... in both artistic and traditional pottery, bringing new vitality to the craft.
Each year, the village produces and markets over 1 million products, generating nearly 100 billion VND in revenue, with an average income of 7-9 million VND per person per month.
On May 8, 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued Decision No. 223/QĐ-UBND approving the project "Pilot Development of OCOP Tourism Products in Bắc Ninh Province for the 2023-2025 period", with a total budget of over 60 billion VND.
In this project, Phu Lang pottery village is oriented to become an OCOP tourism product linked to the national target program for new rural development. This is an opportunity for Phu Lang pottery to reach further.

The village communal house area is planned to become a mini-museum to display and introduce Phù Lãng pottery products through various eras and Vietnamese pottery. The market space is designed to introduce local cuisine, display, and sell OCOP products and Phù Lãng pottery to visitors.
Notably, a "pottery road" will be constructed along the main road into the village. The paintings used will feature themes from Quan họ and Dong Ho.
The pottery village's dock area will be adorned with pottery products. Production workshops are designed to offer spaces for experiencing, playing, and resting. The riverside grass area is planned and renovated into camping and outdoor picnic areas; other entertainment activities will also be organized...
