Ngoa Van is regarded as the sacred cradle of the Truc Lam Zen sect, where King-Buddha Tran Nhan Tong practised buddhism in the final years of his life and attained Nirvana in 1308. It is a particularly spiritual site within the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Landscapes, a UNESCO-recognised World Cultural Heritage site. The presence of Ngoa Van contributes to the integrity of the Truc Lam cultural and spiritual space, providing vivid testimony to ideological, historical and religious values of global significance.
