By October 13, the total amount raised by the Ministry's Party Committee and the overseas Vietnamese community was over 12 billion VND and more than 5,000 USD to share with the provinces heavily affected by the storm. Most of this amount has been transferred to the account of the Central Relief Fund - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The Acting Minister affirmed that the support activities not only have material value but also provide profound spiritual encouragement to the disaster-affected people, helping them gain confidence to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon. This is also a political responsibility, a gesture of solidarity, and a fine tradition of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector.
According to Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, alongside regions with large Vietnamese communities like Germany, France, Czech Republic, Laos, Cambodia, which raised billions of VND, there are areas facing many difficulties in work and life but still actively organized fundraising activities and quickly transferred funds to the Vietnam Fatherland Front account, such as the Vietnamese community in Cuba with 154 million VND; Mongolia with 181 million VND; Belarus with 19 million VND... with diverse fundraising methods like organizing charity music nights, directly carrying donation boxes to call for support at shopping centers.
Currently, the representative agencies and the Vietnamese community continue to organize fundraising activities, and the donations will be compiled and transferred to the Central Relief Fund account as soon as possible.
