Ministry of Foreign Affairs leaders host farewell meeting for retiring officials in 2025

WVR - On January 14, at the Ministry's Headquarters, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu presented retirement decisions to officials and employees retiring in 2025 and hosted a farewell meeting for them.

At the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu presented retirement decisions to former Standing Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Nguyen Huy Tang, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Quang Minh, and other officials who held leadership and management positions at the department level and above.

In his remarks, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that this occasion allows the Party Committee and Ministry Leaders to acknowledge and express gratitude for the contributions of these individuals throughout their careers in foreign affairs and diplomacy.

In 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will see 83 officials and employees retire, including 25 leaders and managers from the deputy department head level and above, and 58 other officials and employees. Throughout their long careers, whether working domestically or at overseas missions, these individuals have consistently demonstrated political resilience, perseverance, silent sacrifices, and dedicated contributions to the Ministry and the sector. They have played a significant role in research, strategic forecasting, and the implementation of key foreign policy directives of our Party and State.

On behalf of the Party Committee and Ministry Leaders, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu acknowledged and praised the significant contributions of these individuals to the sector.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu also highlighted some notable achievements in foreign affairs, attributing these successes to the direct and effective contributions of the retiring officials and employees in 2025. Their dedication and sense of responsibility have helped the Ministry maintain continuity in its work, playing a core role in safeguarding national interests from early on and from afar.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs leadership believes that retirement, as stipulated by the Party and State, is an inevitable milestone in each individual's career, but it also marks the beginning of a new phase of life filled with freedom, experiences, and sharing.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the individuals on successfully completing their "national duty" and returning to their "family duty". "After years of being busy with public work, you can now spend more time resting and taking care of your health and family," the Deputy Minister said.

The Ministry leaders hope that, although retired, these individuals will continue to be shining examples in their new fields of activity and serve as a reliable support for future generations.

On behalf of those receiving decisions, former Standing Deputy Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Huy Tang shared his career journey in foreign affairs, expressing honor and pride in contributing to the country's foreign affairs efforts.

The retirees expressed their gratitude to colleagues, officials, and employees in diplomatic sector for their cooperation and support, which enabled them to fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party and State. Nguyen Huy Tang affirmed his continued interest and readiness to contribute to the overall development of foreign affairs, the sector, and the country.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Dac, Chairman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Retiree Club, congratulated the 2025 retirees on their outstanding work achievements and welcomed them to the club.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dac also introduced the main activities of the club and thanked the Ministry Leaders and current officials for their spiritual and material support, which has facilitated the club's development.

The ceremony was held in a solemn and warm atmosphere, reflecting the respect and appreciation of the Ministry leaders and current officials for the retirees who have dedicated many years to the sector.
