Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu pays courtesy call to leaders of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port
WVR - On October 20, on the occasion of assuming duties in Preah Sihanouk province and the southwestern region of Cambodia, Consul General of Vietnam in Sihanoukville Nguyen Trung Hieu paid a courtesy call to Chairman and CEO Lou Kim Chhun and surveyed the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) – the only deep-water port in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu highly appreciated the remarkable development of PAS, which is linked to the foreign economic growth of the Kingdom of Cambodia in recent years. He expressed hope that PAS would strengthen extensive cooperation with major Vietnamese ports such as Hai Phong Port and ports in Ho Chi Minh City; particularly, he emphasized the need to continue facilitating Vietnamese businesses and goods through PAS.

For his part, Chairman and CEO of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Lou Kim Chhun introduced the potential, strengths, and operational processes of PAS. He also expressed gratitude for the attention and support from the Consulate General, hoping that the Consul General would continue to contribute to the development of PAS and promote cooperation and trade between Vietnam and Cambodia in general, and between PAS and Vietnamese seaports, manufacturing enterprises, and maritime transport in particular.

The visit contributed to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sihanoukville and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, implementing economic diplomacy, and fostering sustainable development in the friendly neighborly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.
