Leaders of Bolikhamxay Province welcome Vietnamese Consul General in Central Laos
WVR - On August 20, at the headquarters of Bolikhamxay Province, Mr. Sonthanu Thammavong, a member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Bolikhamxay Provincial People's Council, warmly received Vietnamese Consul General in Central Laos Nguyen Van Dung, on the occasion of the beginning of his term.

Also attending the meeting were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Government Committee Khamveng Panyannouvong, and representatives of local departments and agencies.
The Consul General expressed his gratitude to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial Government Committee for taking the time to meet with the delegation. He expressed his honour and pride in being entrusted by the Party, State, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam with the responsibility of being the Vietnamese Consul General in Central Laos, which includes Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, and Savannakhet, a region of significant importance to the Lao People's Democratic Republic and closely connected with Vietnamese localities.
The Consul General congratulated Bolikhamxay Province on its achievements in various fields in recent times and expressed confidence that the province will continue to achieve even greater successes in implementing the resolutions of the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 8th Provincial Party Congress.

The Consul General also expressed his delight and appreciation for the cooperative results between Bolikhamxay Province and Vietnamese localities, contributing to the nurturing of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connectivity between Vietnam and Laos, which is increasingly deepening, practical, and effective across various fields.
The Consul General thanked and requested Bolikhamxay Province leaders to continue to pay attention and create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the area. He urged the province to continue addressing difficulties and obstacles, supporting Vietnamese enterprises investing in the province, and facilitating mechanisms, policies, and administrative procedures to attract Vietnamese businesses to implement large-scale, effective projects in fields where the province has potential and strengths, such as high-tech agriculture, energy, agro-forestry processing, logistics, infrastructure, and tourism, thereby contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Sonthanu Thammavong warmly welcomed Consul General Nguyen Van Dung to his new post in Central Laos, wishing him a successful term with many positive outcomes, contributing actively to the development of the “great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connectivity” between Laos and Vietnam in general, and between Bolikhamxay Province and Vietnamese localities in particular.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Sonthanu Thammavong agreed with the points raised by the Consul General and affirmed that Bolikhamxay Province always values and wishes to continue strengthening cooperative relations with Vietnamese localities in various fields, especially in economy, trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
He highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese business community to the socio-economic development of the province and affirmed continued support and facilitation for Vietnamese enterprises investing in the province, as well as those seeking opportunities, expanding investment, and implementing projects in Bolikhamxay.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Sonthanu Thammavong also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Consulate General will continue to serve as a bridge to promote and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between Bolikhamxay Province and Vietnamese localities such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Ca Mau, and Lam Dong in implementing cooperation agreements; and that the Vietnamese community and businesses residing in the province will continue to contribute to local development.
