The Prime Minister highlighted the Party’s guidelines and policies on culture which has significantly contributed to the struggle for national liberation in the past, as well as the present rapid, sustainable national development.

The Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) is a pioneer in cultural preservation and promotion, he said, adding that the university has played a role in the development of culture and arts of the army and the country as well.

Pointing to a host of challenges to cultural conservation, Chinh asked the university to thoroughly grasp the Party’s viewpoint that culture is the spiritual foundation of society, the objective, the intrinsic strength, and the important momentum for the nation to move ahead.

The educational institution was also urged to organise high-quality, modern art programmes, and produce more art works with high values in terms of ideology, arts and culture, contributing to promoting Vietnamese culture abroad.

The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of information-technology and digital transformation to teaching, saying the university should pay more attention to the training of teachers and managers, and Party building.

Over the past nearly 70 years, the university has strived to overcome difficulties to complete the task of training artists and musicians for the army.

It trained nearly 5,000 students over the past decade, and compiled and published hundreds of documents on culture and arts over the past five years.
