Foreign Ministry announces appointments of Minister’s Secretary, Consul General in Sihanoukville
WVR - On the afternoon of August 18, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung presided over the ceremony to present appointment decisions for the Minister's Secretary and the Consul General of Vietnam in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry's leadership and the appointed officials.

At the ceremony, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung presented the appointment decision to Phan Ho The Nam, Deputy Director General and Deputy Chief of the Ministry's Office, as Secretary to the Politburo Member, Standing Member of the Government Party Committee, and Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Director General of the Department of External Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy, as Consul General of Vietnam in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
In his assignment speech, Minister Le Hoai Trung congratulated the two officials entrusted with new responsibilities; he emphasised that the appointments recognize their work process, capabilities, and experience, while also setting higher requirements for responsibility, exemplary spirit, and effective task execution in the coming period.

For comrade Phan Ho The Nam in the position of Minister's Secretary, Minister Le Hoai Trung noted that this position demands high accuracy, proactivity, sensitivity, synthesis, advisory, and coordination skills, as well as a firm grasp of programs and work content; ensuring timely and accurate information; and closely coordinating with the Ministry's units to effectively serve the leadership, direction, and management of the Minister.
The Minister urged comrade Phan Ho The Nam to continue leveraging his experience in the Ministry's Office and specialized units; proactively research and enhance advisory capabilities; maintain responsibility, discipline, and meet the requirements of foreign affairs, information, and internal coordination.

For Nguyen Trung Hieu, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasised that the role of Consul General of Vietnam in Sihanoukville is significant in implementing Vietnam's foreign affairs in Cambodia, as the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship continues to be strengthened and developed in various fields.
The Foreign Minister expects that in his new role, Nguyen Trung Hieu will leverage his experience in foreign affairs and cultural diplomacy, proactively and effectively implement consular, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, and community tasks. Furthermore, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sihanoukville should strengthen connections with local authorities, agencies, businesses, and people, thereby contributing to fostering the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung reminded officials working at Vietnamese Representative Missions abroad to always uphold the image and prestige of the country and the diplomatic sector; to have a firm grasp of local situations, and to effectively perform the functions of representation, citizen protection, and support for the Vietnamese community abroad.
The Minister expressed confidence that two officials Phan Ho The Nam and Nguyen Trung Hieu, in their new roles, will continue to demonstrate their qualities, capabilities, and experience; unite with the collective, be proactive and creative in their work, fulfill their assigned tasks well, and make practical contributions to the implementation of the Party and State's foreign policy.

In his acceptance speech, newly-appointed Phan Ho The Nam expressed gratitude for the trust and assignment from the Minister and the Ministry's leadership; he affirmed his commitment to seriously absorbing the directives, continuously learning, enhancing responsibility, and proactively coordinating with units to fulfill the assigned tasks well, effectively serving the leadership and direction of the Minister.
Nguyen Trung Hieu expressed his honour at the Ministry's leadership's trust in assigning him a new responsibility; he affirmed his utmost effort to leverage experience, maintain unity, proactively grasp local situations, and comprehensively implement foreign affairs, consular, economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, and community tasks, contributing to the ever-growing Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
