On September 29, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh delivered a talk on Vietnam's major advancements – the revolution in streamlining the political system's organizational structure, merging administrative units, establishing a two-tier local government, and breakthroughs in private economic development as per the spirit of the Politburo's Resolution No. 68-NQ/TƯ. The talk was attended by nearly 100 students from the School of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University, one of Thailand's leading and oldest research universities.

Highlighting the proud and glorious history of the Vietnamese nation through a documentary film showcasing 80 years of national building and development at the event "The Big Move in Vietnam", Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized the country's significant achievements after nearly 40 years of Renovation. He affirmed that these achievements form a crucial foundation for Vietnam to continue its reform efforts, creating a pivotal shift to meet development demands in the new era, laying the groundwork for the nation to enter a period of robust growth, realizing the aspiration for prosperity and strength.

Regarding the reform to streamline the political system's organizational structure, merging 63 provinces and cities into 34 provincial administrative units, and establishing a two-tier local government, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh analyzed that it is not merely a mechanical reduction or change in the administrative map. It represents a strong shift towards comprehensive restructuring to change management and service delivery to citizens and businesses, building a streamlined, modern administration capable of seizing opportunities in the new development era.

The goals include: saving the state budget, reducing administrative costs for citizens and businesses; organizing a streamlined, efficient, effective local government, reducing intermediate layers to meet the demands of professional, modern governance; ensuring a transparent, unified, seamless administration in line with global trends; demonstrating a commitment to reform, improving public service quality, promoting digital transformation, creating momentum for innovation, and enhancing trust among citizens, businesses, and international friends; expanding development space, leveraging local potential advantages, concentrating resources for rapid, sustainable socio-economic development, aiming for socio-economic development goals: by 2030, Vietnam will be a developing country with modern industry and high middle income; by 2045, it will become a developed country with high income.

Resolution 68-NQ/TU marks a historic step, identifying the private economy as the most crucial driver of the national economy. This represents a revolution in thinking and institutions, proactively designing and creating a favorable environment for development, allowing economic flows to move naturally, faster, and more accurately. The resolution affirms the Party's leadership role, the State's facilitating role, placing enterprises at the center and as the main entity, while outlining 08 key tasks and solutions for private economic development.

Assessing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand as having opened a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed confidence that Vietnam's entry into an era of strong, prosperous development will also create many increasingly favourable cooperation opportunities in all fields between Vietnam and Thailand.

The talk attracted interest from Thai lecturers and students, sparking discussions on private economic development policies, solutions to maintain sustainable growth momentum, and the development prospects of Vietnam's localities. This, in turn, enhances information on the increasingly open prospects and cooperation opportunities with Vietnam.

The program introducing Vietnam, organized by Khon Kaen University in collaboration with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, is a meaningful activity celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Thailand.
