Full scholarships awarded to Sri Lankan students to study at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology

This marks the first time the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology has awarded full scholarships to Sri Lankan students. The scholarship package includes full tuition for one year of Vietnamese language study and five years of an engineering program, along with accommodation, living expenses, insurance, and round-trip airfare.
The selected training programs align with Sri Lanka's socio-economic development needs and are also the strengths of the Institute, such as Information Technology, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, and Internet of Things Technology - IoT.
Speaking at the scholarship announcement ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Trinh Thi Tam emphasized:
"The Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology is a long-standing institution with a high reputation and is one of the leading training centers in the ICT field in Vietnam. The training programs offered are very suitable for the current development needs and direction of the Sri Lankan Government.
I believe that the scholarship recipients will not only gain knowledge from the institution but also have the opportunity to learn about Vietnam's country, people, and culture, becoming bridges for cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries".
The Ambassador affirmed the continued promotion of educational cooperation, a highly potential area of collaboration between the two countries in the future; she also highly appreciated the active coordination of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology with the Embassy throughout the implementation of this program, contributing to strengthening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Sri Lanka.
The scholarship recipients come from various regions in Sri Lanka such as Kandy, Matara, Ambakote; most are children of members of political parties in Sri Lanka like the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, JVP… with outstanding academic achievements and a desire to access high-quality education in Vietnam.

Student Viduka Gimhana Dhammage from Kandy shared: "I am deeply moved to be selected along with other students. This is a great opportunity for us to study, enhance our skills and understanding, especially in the technology field - a sector of growing interest in Sri Lanka.
I will do my utmost to live up to the trust of the Government and people of Vietnam".
Ms. Ho Thi My Ai, parent of student Chandrasooriya Jinali Thawinsa, emotionally stated: "My family is very grateful to the Government of Vietnam, the Embassy, and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology for giving my daughter the opportunity to study in Vietnam. My daughter will not only gain academic knowledge but also deepen her connection with Vietnam, my beloved homeland".
The Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology has developed a dedicated curriculum for Sri Lankan students, closely integrating theory and practice and equipping them with global digital skills.
This full scholarship program is the result of effective collaboration between the Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Institute, and it serves as a vivid symbol of friendship and sharing between the two developing nations.
In the context of globalization, education becomes a sustainable diplomatic tool, helping to build trust, enhance human connections, and lay the foundation for many future strategic collaborations, for the sustainable development and future of the young generations of both countries.
