Speaking at the ceremony, Kazakhstan's Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev stated that the Second Class Dostyk Order of Friendship, awarded by a Presidential Decree, is a prestigious award recognizing Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai's active contributions to strengthening and developing the friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
Deputy Minister Alibek Bakayev highly appreciated the dynamic development in Vietnam-Kazakhstan relations, especially the official visit to Vietnam by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in August 2023 and the state visit to Kazakhstan by General Secretary To Lam in May 2025, which have created strong momentum, deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation. In 2025, Vietnam and Kazakhstan elevated their relations to a Strategic Partnership, opening prospects for comprehensive cooperation.

For her part, Ambassador Pham Thai Nhu Mai expressed sincere gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Government of Kazakhstan for their care and warm sentiments towards Vietnam. The Ambassador affirmed Vietnam's readiness to continue fostering constructive cooperation with Kazakhstan based on mutual respect, trust, and mutual benefit.
Expressing her emotions upon receiving the prestigious order, the Ambassador emphasized that the Second Class Dostyk Order of Friendship is not only a personal honour but also a symbol of the enduring friendship and trust between the peoples of the two countries. Additionally, the Ambassador thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan for their dedicated support in achieving a successful tenure.
In recent years, Vietnam-Kazakhstan relations have seen significant developments. Bilateral trade turnover reached nearly 1 billion USD, aiming for a target of 5 billion USD by 2030. Vietnam ranks among the top three favorite destinations for Kazakhstani people, with hundreds of thousands of tourists each year.
Numerous investment cooperation projects in transportation, finance, and oil and gas exploration are underway. People-to-people exchanges are active, with many sister city relationships and an increasing number of students.
