Fourth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange launched

General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Defence Minister, and Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong co-chaired the event.

At the seminar, representatives of both sides affirmed that border protection forces of the two countries have always maintained a good cooperation relationship over the past years including holding regular talks, professional and information exchanges, and handling cases and problems occurring along the shared border.

In addition, friendship exchange activities have been maintained between the two border protection forces and between residential areas along the border.

The both sides agreed that such activities will contribute to fostering cooperation between the two border protection forces as well as creating more opportunities for residents of the two countries to do business and build a life of comfort.

In the afternoon of the same day, the two sides attended an inauguration ceremony of the Vietnam-China Border Friendship Cultural House at Po To village, HuoiLuong commune, PhongTho district, Lai Chau province.

The representatives of both sides also witnessed a joint exercise on cross-border anti-crime between functional forces of the two countries at the Ma Lu Thang National Border Gate. Exchange activities will continue to take place in the Yunnan province of China on September 24 and concluded on the same day.
