During the meeting, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed his delight at the robust development of Vietnam-Norway relations after 55 years of diplomatic ties. He affirmed that Vietnam values strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Norway, as both sides have favorable conditions to complement each other and expand mutually beneficial cooperation towards a green transition and the development of a circular economy.

To enhance cooperation across various fields in the coming time, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed that both sides increase political trust through delegation exchanges at all levels across all channels. He emphasized leveraging Norway's strengths and the potential of both countries in investment–trade, agriculture, sustainable fisheries development, high technology, climate change adaptation, environment, and green growth to expand and deepen the relationship effectively and substantively.

Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung thanked Norway for its valuable support over the years and stressed the need to continue effective traditional cooperation areas such as education–training cooperation and development support to help Vietnam enhance capacity, strengthen institutions, promote gender equality, and socio-economic development.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and Minister Åsmund Aukrust expressed their pleasure at the positive progress in negotiations to establish the Vietnam-Norway Green Strategic Partnership. They agreed to promote negotiations and soon sign the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between EFTA member countries (including Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein) and Vietnam, aiming to diversify markets and bring practical benefits to the business communities and people of both sides.

Delighted to meet Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Norwegian Minister Åsmund Aukrust highly appreciated Vietnam's role, position, and proactive foreign policy. He regarded Vietnam as a friend and reliable partner of Norway in the Asia-Pacific region. He affirmed that this visit to Vietnam, right after the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrates high political trust and the Norwegian Government's interest in promoting more substantive and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. The potential and scope for bilateral and multilateral cooperation remain vast.

Amid increasing global instability and rising trade tensions, Minister Åsmund Aukrust affirmed Norway's desire to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in trade, sustainable seafood, green energy, marine economy, green transition, and the development of a circular economy. He also emphasized continuing collaboration with Vietnam to promote multilateralism and address global challenges.

Sharing views on international and regional situations, both sides agreed to actively exchange and coordinate positions on issues of mutual concern, promote inter-regional cooperation, especially within ASEAN, WTO, and the United Nations, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
