On behalf of the Club, Nguyen Van Dac shared that this year's traditional Tet holds special significance as the diplomatic sector continues to receive recognition and high evaluation from the Party and State leaders. At the 14th National Party Congress, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung was elected to the Politburo, while Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu and Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong were elected to the Party Central Committee. The Retiree Club Chairman considered this a significant milestone, affirming the increasingly prominent position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the political system.

“This is not only an honour for the individuals entrusted but also a great encouragement for the entire sector,” emphasized Nguyen Van Dac. As the nation enters a new development phase, these achievements further motivate the cadre team, including retirees, to continue accompanying, sharing experiences, and contributing intellect to the common cause.

The Chairman of the Retiree Club also expressed appreciation for the thoughtful care from the Ministry and functional units towards retired officials. Even after leaving their positions, these officials maintain close ties with the sector and receive both material and spiritual attention. “None of us are forgotten,” this sincere affirmation received widespread support from the attending delegates.

At the gathering, listening to the sharing from the Retiree Club representative, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Hoài Trung expressed deep emotions upon reuniting with former leaders and colleagues who have guided and accompanied him throughout his career. Minister Lê Hoài Trung shared that, for him, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not just an administrative agency but a “space of affection”, where his career began and his ideals of serving the nation were nurtured.

Reflecting on the sector's development, the Minister emphasized significant organizational changes, particularly the merger between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the Party Committee for Overseas Affairs, and several other functional units. This restructuring not only aims to meet organizational reform requirements but also to enhance the comprehensive leadership of the Party over foreign affairs, ensuring unity between Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people's diplomacy.

Minister Lê Hoài Trung stated that, in the context of rapidly changing, complex, and unpredictable international situations, foreign affairs face increasingly high demands. The diplomatic sector must simultaneously fulfill two essential tasks: maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for development and making practical contributions to the nation's socio-economic, scientific, and technological development. Diplomacy should not only involve attending conferences or bilateral and multilateral exchanges but also create tangible value, support businesses, promote investment cooperation, technology transfer, and market expansion.

Additionally, the Minister mentioned internal tasks such as accelerating digital transformation, strengthening discipline across the sector, restructuring the cadre team towards streamlining and efficiency, and promoting the expert mechanism and ranking system to ensure deep professional requirements while aligning with general organizational regulations. The Minister affirmed that these are crucial tasks requiring high determination and consensus from the entire sector.
