Welcoming the delegation from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports on their official friendly visit to Vietnam, Foreign Minister Trung expressed confidence that the visit would further deepen the special Vietnam-Laos relationship and foster reliable cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports. This visit marks a proactive and positive start for implementing educational cooperation and human resource development strategies between the two countries from 2026 to 2030.
Congratulating Thongsalith Mangnomek on his election as Minister of Education and Sports of Laos in June 2025, Foreign Minister Trung expressed confidence that under his leadership, Laos's education, science and technology, and sports sectors would continue to thrive.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Minister Thongsalith Mangnomek's visit is particularly significant, following the highly successful state visit to Laos by General Secretary To Lam. During this visit, the leaders of both countries agreed to deepen and elevate their relationship to: “Great Friendship, Special Solidarity, Comprehensive Cooperation, Strategic Connectivity”, identifying education and training as a key area to promote strategic linkage between the two nations.

Foreign Minister Trung highly valued the close and reliable cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, highlighting the successful implementation of the 2025 Cooperation Plan. This serves as an important foundation for both sides to effectively execute the 2026 Cooperation Plan, significantly contributing to the training of high-quality human resources for both countries and promoting the special Vietnam-Laos relationship among the youth of both nations.
Lao Minister of Education and Sports Thongsalith Mangnomek expressed his pleasure at officially visiting and working in Vietnam, thanking Foreign Minister Trung for taking the time to meet with the delegation. He expressed joy over the meaningful and important achievements Vietnam and its people have attained recently, noting the country's increasingly prominent role and position in the region and internationally, with significant contributions from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Thongsalith Mangnomek expressed confidence that the Communist Party of Vietnam would successfully organize its 14th National Congress in early 2026.

On this occasion, Minister Thongsalith Mangnomek informed Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung about the outcomes of his discussions with Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Nguyễn Kim Sơn and the cooperation results between the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training. He outlined future cooperation directions, emphasizing the effective implementation of the 2026 Cooperation Agreement between the two ministries and the outcomes of the recent 48th Intergovernmental Committee Meeting.
Minister Thongsalith Mangnomek sincerely thanked Vietnam for its meaningful and effective support to Laos over the years. He affirmed that the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports would closely and effectively collaborate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training to enhance the quality of high-quality human resource training, establish a robust coordination mechanism in selecting, training, and utilizing human resources post-training, ensuring effective investment and sustainable connectivity. He also emphasized promoting education among the youth about the historical tradition of the special Laos-Vietnam solidarity, thereby contributing to deepening and strengthening the special Laos-Vietnam relationship in a practical and effective manner.
