Fireworks light up Ho Chi Minh City skies on Reunification Day

On April 30 evening, thousands of people gathered in downtown Ho Chi Minh City to watch fireworks displays marking the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2024).

The fireworks shows took place from 9pm to 9.15pm at five locations, namely Sai Gon River tunnel, Thao Dien villa area and Van Phuc urban area in Thu Duc city; the Tay Bac Industrial Park in Cu Chi district; and the Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11.

Ngo Kieu My, who resides in District 6, said she had seen fireworks multiple times but she was still excited as nothing was more joyful than watching them on the Reunification Day.

Many foreigners also flocked to the streets to enjoy the dazzling fireworks.
