WVR - On April 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong held a meeting with VSIP Group.

The delegation was led by Huynh Quang Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of VSIP in the North, Central, and Southwest regions.

Attending the meeting were leaders from the Department of Southeast Asia - South Asia - South Pacific, the Department of Economic Diplomacy, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as leaders of VSIP from localities such as Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Lang Son, Nam Dinh, and Thai Binh.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong acknowledged and commended the contributions of VSIP in recent times in attracting foreign investment, contributing to economic growth, and creating jobs for people in many localities nationwide. He affirmed that VSIP is one of the most successful, exemplary, and effective symbols of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.

The Deputy Minister also urged VSIP to pay more attention to developing smart, high-tech industrial parks with a focus on "green" elements. He also stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to cooperate with VSIP and several enterprises and corporations to implement initiatives promoting international cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Huynh Quang Hai, Chairman of the BOD of VSIP in the North, Central, and Southwest regions, stressed that in recent times, alongside the increasingly developing relationship between Vietnam and Singapore, and with the attention of the Party, State, and local authorities, the VSIP network has continuously expanded in scale, improved infrastructure quality, and effectively attracted foreign investment flows.

Currently, the Group attracts a total FDI of approximately 31 billion USD with 22 projects. Notably, 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of VSIP's establishment and development in Vietnam (1996-2026). The leadership of VSIP shared that the Group is striving to increase the total number of industrial parks to 30 nationwide.

The leadership of VSIP said that the Group is ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote initiatives in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. They also expressed their desire to continue receiving support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related ministries and sectors in investment and business activities. VSIP will focus on attracting "green", high-tech FDI flows, promoting the development of an advanced manufacturing ecosystem, with a strategic focus on developing smart, sustainable industrial parks as noted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs leadership.

At the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the VSIP delegation exchanged in-depth discussions on areas of mutual interest such as the global and regional situation, promoting cooperation in science and technology, and attracting "green" investment...

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his hope that VSIP will continue to develop, deserving to be one of the exemplary symbols of Vietnam-Singapore economic cooperation in the past and the new phase. He affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany and support VSIP, along with relevant ministries, sectors, and localities, to operate in compliance with regulations, effectively contributing to socio-economic development in localities and growth objectives, thereby practically and effectively implementing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.
