Welcoming the members of the delegation of Heads of Vietnamese Representative Missions Abroad for the 2025 - 2028 term were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai province Vu Hong Van; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Duong Minh Dung, Head of the Department for Information, Culture and Mass Mobilization of the Provincial Party Committee; Truong Thi Huong Binh, Director of the Department of Finance, along with leaders of departments, agencies, localities, and prominent businesses in Dong Nai province.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, representing the delegation, expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception by the leaders of Dong Nai province and highly appreciated the position and development potential of the locality after merging with the former Binh Phuoc province. Accordingly, the new Dong Nai has risen to rank 9th nationwide in terms of area, 5th in population, and 4th in economic scale, becoming an important growth pole of the Southeast region, playing a strategic connecting role with the Central Highlands, South Central, and Mekong Delta regions. These figures not only reflect the stature but also open up significant room for the locality to break through, becoming an important growth pole of the Southeast Region.

In the 2026-2031 period, Dong Nai aims for an average GRDP growth of 10% per year, reaching over 1.2 trillion VND by 2030, with per capita GRDP exceeding 250 million VND. These goals are expected to create a strong breakthrough, turning the locality into a dynamic and sustainable development center of the region.
This is the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized a visit for the delegation of Heads of Representative Missions to Dong Nai province, reflecting the special interest of Ambassadors and Consuls General in understanding the strengths and investment needs of Dong Nai province. It is also an opportunity for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dong Nai province to exchange and seek cooperation directions, helping the province gain new growth drivers.
With the motto "putting people, localities, and businesses at the center of service," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always accompanies and closely cooperates with localities in enhancing the effectiveness of foreign affairs, attracting foreign investors, and effectively mobilizing, exploiting, and utilizing international resources for socio-economic development.
At the working session, Mr. Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized the development orientation of the locality to become a Grade I urban area, a strategic gateway city, and an "airport city" associated with Long Thanh International Airport. The province focuses on developing pillars such as high-tech industry, logistics, trade, high-tech agriculture, and innovation, aiming to become a center for international trade connectivity in the region.

Dong Nai also requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative missions abroad to continue supporting information connection, promoting the investment environment, introducing potential partners, and deepening existing international cooperation relationships while expanding into new markets.
Dong Nai is considered a locality with great development potential, with a comprehensive and modern infrastructure foundation in all aspects. Notably, the province always emphasizes administrative reform, effectively implementing the motto "government accompanies businesses." Regular dialogues and support activities for businesses are organized, contributing to creating a transparent, open, and attractive investment environment for both domestic and foreign investors.
Subsequently, representatives of Dong Nai's departments, agencies, and some heads of representative missions in the delegation exchanged issues encountered and expressed the desire for support in information connection, promoting the investment environment, introducing potential partners, and deepening existing international cooperation relationships while expanding into new markets.

Concluding the working session, Mr. Vu Hong Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai province, emphasized the development orientation of the locality to become a Grade I urban area, a strategic gateway city, and an "airport city" associated with Long Thanh International Airport. The province focuses on developing pillars such as high-tech industry, logistics, trade, high-tech agriculture, and innovation, aiming to become a center for international trade connectivity in the region.
In recent times, Dong Nai's foreign affairs work has been implemented comprehensively and synchronously across three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people's diplomacy; thereby making an important contribution to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, expanding cooperative relations, and attracting external resources for the socio-economic development of the locality.

On the afternoon of April 1, continuing the delegation's program, the delegation of Heads of Vietnamese Representative Missions paid an official visit and worked with the leaders of Vinh Long province. Welcoming the delegation were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son, along with leaders of departments, agencies, associations, and the business community in the area.
Opening the working session, Mr. Nguyen Truc Son noted that this is the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized a working delegation to Vinh Long province immediately after the decision to merge the three provinces of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tra Vinh. This merger aims to realize major resolutions of the Politburo on the development orientation of the Mekong Delta region, promoting private economic development, applying science and technology, digital transformation, and enhancing policy implementation capacity at the local level.

With its strategic central position in the region, Vinh Long, after the merger, holds outstanding potential and advantages for a breakthrough. The announcement of the provincial planning adjustment for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, has clearly outlined the future portrait of the locality: aiming to become a green, modern economic center, gradually affirming its role as a new growth driver for the entire region. By 2030, Vinh Long aims for a synchronized infrastructure system with seamless connectivity. The 2050 vision shapes Vinh Long to operate under a green economy, digital economy, and circular economy model, strictly adhering to the directives of General Secretary To Lam on innovation and deep integration.

To realize the aspiration to rise and maximize strengths, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Truc Son expressed the desire for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Heads of representative missions to support the establishment and development of close cooperative relationships with foreign partners. Through diplomatic bridges, the province hopes to effectively connect with international businesses, directing foreign capital flows into areas where the locality has needs. Particularly, Vinh Long is prioritizing the invitation of large-scale projects that strongly apply high technology to effectively serve the socio-economic development process. The working session is an opportunity for diplomats to understand the area and directly record Vinh Long's "orders," thereby building a practical action plan for the upcoming term.

Responding to these strategic proposals, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the development vision and affirmed Vinh Long's important role in the rise of the Mekong Delta region. The Deputy Minister emphasized that, besides foreign affairs, national defense, security, and enhancing national prestige, diplomacy for economic development has been positioned as a pioneering, essential, and regular task of the entire foreign affairs sector.
With the motto of putting people, localities, and businesses at the center of service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to always standing by the province in exploiting and mobilizing international resources. The representative agencies will serve as a solid bridge, supporting the locality in promoting the export of strong products such as agricultural and aquatic products, continuously diversifying international consumption markets, directly contributing to the country's integration process.
